Thank you for your very interesting and informative posts. I'm still relatively new to this star. Are you aware if they've studied its wobble, and if so, how or if that correlates to the light curve? Thanks if you answer, and it's okay if you don't. I just appreciate what you do do. :-)

What is interesting is if a society of Extra terrestrials were there and were looking at us they would see what was going on in 787 A.D.. That's right, nothing was happening here on Earth until the last 100 years or so. This is when we started sending out radio waves.

"With our new big telescope we've been able to get a good look at the planet, and there appears to be some kind of dyson sphere-ish structure built around the planet, but as of yet we have no idea what it is or why it's there. Might be a cloud of asteroids."

I often wonder if there is nothing in front of the star at all, but it may be that this star is entering a period of low emissions.  That is, the star is going through a normal cycle where it first starts to dim and regular or not so regular periods, where also those periods have different lengths until it enters a dormant cycle.  This is what is predicted to happen to our star every 100,000 years or so, which is what explains the cyclic ice ages that this planet has been in for the last 500,000,000 years. In between these long dormant states is what is known as the interglacial period, which is currently where planet Earth is now.  What we may be a witness to is another solar system entering another of their ice ages.

There was an exoplanet with a giant ring system 200 times larger than Saturn's discovered by the transit method in 2015. I hope someone's compared the light curves.

ok what if you have two or three massive planets orbiting this star Jupiter sized or bigger all of them pass the sun either together or staggered or in some order it would produce different light levels depending on how they were traveling lagging or in sync it would explain the various light level changes who knows maybe the planets are locked to one another by gravity

Stars are just big light bulbs they brighten and dim if they have a unstable power supply. No need for science fiction.

Could it possibly be a black hole eclipsing Tabby's star? The gravity from the hole would warp a ton of the stars rays so they would never reach us

If the comet thing doesn't level out, this is starting to sound artificial. I mean what else could it be at this point. Minus the random unknown natural even. Occam's Razor is becoming to favor artificial origin. Someone in the comments mentioned possible communication method, you could be bending the light instead of blocking it.

Could be a planets forming dust cloud in orbit around the star in line between us and the view of the star which being such would be thicker or thinner and also changing in depth as the hot star UV and solar wind effects it?  We seen many new hot young stars like Vega with eco-planets forming around them and the light does change when the eco-planet forming dust moves around.  This is also why we can even detect if there is planets in orbit around allot of close star systems!  So as you say without more data we can only guess?

What if what we are observing (these apparent fluctuations) is actually the result of a gravitational lensing effect due to a source of large gravity between us and Tabby's star? Could this explain the absence of certain ranges of spectrums? I would love to know. This notion opens up the possibility for nearly anything that could lie between us and Tabby's star as being the source of gravity that is affecting our observations. Everything I'm reading as a causation for this event is sourced with extreme proximity to the star itself and that could be the reason why we can't come up with explanations, because we've got ourselves convinced thus far that the affector is in the same solar system as Tabby's star. That's a rather limited area to confine our imagination. EDIT: also, I claim this idea as my own.

According to NASA astronomers think this dimming is a black object orbiting in what they are assuming is an alien hostess ship moving over the light of KIC Which is 1400 light years away from earth this means by givin the time frame for it to reach earth is 1400 years so whatever objects this is it past over KIC a long time ago!

Hey John. Joe Scott' channel just released a video claimimg Tabby's mistery solved. Another lazy video from people not paying attention. Claims we are basically sure its dust from planetary collision. Ignores long term dimming and completelly unaware of the unexpected brightenings.
Please do a response video? Maybe send him personally through yt?

Anyone thought it just might be a large object such as planet or an asteroid orbiting a bit closer to us, thus dimming more light? Closer it is to use, more light it will block. You can put your finger over sun and block it's light, or at least to your eye. Who is to say that someting like that isn't happening here? Why are people just "Aliens, Aliens". Could just be you got something orbiting at a closer distance that you don't see cause it has no sun
