Really don't know which one I'd prefer. All 3 are great. Maybe because I love mountains, traveling and off road challenges I'd be with the X

Convinced me completely. I am 66 years old, riding a Honda PCX for the last two years but have outgrown that now 🤣 and these 500’s seem a perfect bike for my needs. Looked at all 3 in the series but your video has convinced me of my initial thoughts, the X marks the spot. Thank you 👍

It don't have a belly pan, and it dont have spoke wheels, and its an adventure bike. Everything else I like.

Is the abs instrusive?
Thank you so much!

Great review and video footage--direct and to the point. I am looking at the 500x, the bmw g 310 gs, and the ktm 390 adventure as a first motorcycle (I rode motorcycles through my teen years but have not since, and I am 59 now, so I consider myself starting over). Do you think the 500x is a good beginner's bike? A number of reviewers say start smaller and work your way up as you hone your skills. Thank you!

My 2016 CB500X is getting on average 95ish MPG (UK) all year round. Riding 15k miles a year, doing 95 miles each day for work. After 280miles I still have 4lts left in the tank. I bet I could ride 350-370 on a full tank !!!!

After 54.5k miles not one mechanical issue. Tyres last 38k miles (Bridgestone T31's) still the first set of brake pads front & rear, same battery. Valve clearances have been fine, with no adjustments. I'm only buying oil and filters !!!!

If you need a bike to commute and doesn't drink fuel and still have a bit of fun than buy this bike......

Invest in hand/engine/radiator guard, skid plate and centre stand..Also a side panniers will be nice..Engine is reliable and fuss free although no traction or riding mode but there’s assist and slipper clutch..

I bought one based on this review after my blackbird was written off. I felt like a complete change as the blackbird was heavy and way too fast as I have no self control. This new cb500x is so light it feel like you aren’t riding anything, great ride, characterful engine, not very quick but all round a brilliant thing.

I bought a pre-loved 2019 CB500X a couple of months ago. It is a second bike for me (to my Triumph T120) for all year round use in South West England. It’s great and I’m very pleased with it. It’s as if you don’t have to think too much about the bike, you can just easily tell which is the correct gear to be in. I can just concentrate on those lanes and surfaces. I got the measure of it quickly and can trust it. It’s easy to clean off too, which is a must with this dirty weather. Mine now has a top box, centre stand, heated grips and a power point, making it a useful practical machine. It’s relatively light too. It won’t win awards for looks or power, but it ain’t bad either. For local fun rides I can see myself using this more than the Bonneville and that is saying something... (I’m in my late 60s and ridden all sorts of quality bikes such as BMW, Yamaha, Triumph).

I purchased a 2017 model around 6 months ago, been riding bikes for over 30 years and the CB500x ticks all the boxes, it does everything really well, it's plenty quick enough unless you're on a drag strip, it corners really well, unless you want to burn the skin off your thighs, brakes, they're great unless you're a very late breaker and that's dangerous on some of our roads in kent .... What else hmmmm Fuel, about 60 odd to the gallon and I don't hang around, i like to use the revs - It's really light and chuckable, simply great fun ...... One wish Honda, we want one with a 650 engine in it please, i know that would put Africa twin sales at risk, but hey, the sales of the 650 would blow the opposition right out the water ....

I can't understand why "HONDA" has dropped the ball after all the improvements they have made to make this a better CB 500X motorcycle, with only supplying the colour of boring "GREY" for AUSTRALIA which will make many buyers CANCEL their ORDERS for this motorcycle if "HONDA" doesn't supply at least Honda's colour of "RED" for the AUSTRALIAN market.

I won't be placing my order for this Honda CB500X motorcycle in "AUSTRALIA" unless Honda includes their HONDA colour "RED" as advertised on their web sites before their release, as they only are only providing Grey & Silver to the dealers in AUSTRALIA dealers say.

Love the bike, did you notice though that with clever camera work you never see a diminutive rider on the bike side on for more than a moment and the presenter stands well back - that's what I would do if I wanted to make the bike look bigger than it is ;)

I advise Australian buyers to hold off purchasing the 2019 HONDA CB 500X if Honda can only supply the colour of "Grey & Silver for Australia" and not supplying their colour of RED or WHITE for Australia as shown on the internet WEB SITES.
There will be some very disappointed customers in Australia, as well as myself, as (I will be considering another brand of motorcycle) if their colour of RED is not available in Australia.

I loved my first gen CB500X. Only reason I got rid of it was to get more power. It was nimble, comfortable, and pretty good looking. Surprisingly smooth for a twin, even at freeway speeds, but something about holding 7500+ rpms on the freeway felt uncomfortable despite it's smoothness. Around town it was pretty good, but get over 40mph or so and that quick hit of torque was completely gone. If they could package this bike with something around 800cc, I'd probably buy one again. I'd rather have a more powerful 500X than a smaller Africa Twin.

Great upgrades & improvements by Honda; nice job. I still love my CB500X 2017, but i dream of a new CB650X same bike as the new great CB500X 2019 but with a 650cc engine, spoked wheels, inverted front forks & a bash/skid plate. To be honest: im really tempted by this new awesome CB500X 2019.
