A nice reminder how underrated Rob Reiner is. 3 scenes in the top ten and all so different
ОтветитьThis should be name The 10 worst not funniest movies.
Ответитьpeter sellers in dr. strangelove would be my number one single performance in any comedy ever. Absolute gold and genius.
Ответитьthe absurdity rank could have 20 plus scenes from the holy grail. My favorite as a kid was the killer rabbit...there is the scene where Tim says, "some people call me...tim" My favorite scene now is when the knight comes in to save the prince from being forced to get married and kills almost everyone in the wedding party and stops on the stairs to chop the flowers on the wall lol. The scene where the french men launch a cow off the top of the castle. The end scene where the police show up and arrest all of the knights for murder...even the opening credits are just absolutely absurd...if anyone but monty python would have gotten the slot for absurdity...it would be absurd.
ОтветитьI wanted to watch the 10 funniest moments in movies, not listen to you yammer on about how and why I'm supposed to find it funny.
ОтветитьI missed Michael Palin on this list. Not even a mention en passant. The "Bigus Dickus" sceene on The Life of Brian, and the stuttering scene at the end of A Fish Called Wanda, are some of the greatest comedy sceenes in cinema history. But it seems you guys prefer American films.
ОтветитьKnew you had to pick a Monty Python, Marx Brothers & Christopher Guest flick.
ОтветитьLove that you mentioned Super Troopers! such a great comedy
ОтветитьYes! The printer massacre never fails. If you could just keep your amazing cinematic countdowns going, that would be great, m’kay? Thanks!
ОтветитьNow, then, what is this video about?
The phrase now, then is among the most incongruous parts of the English language, and I love it
F off boomers
ОтветитьYou’re telling me someone laughs at Kirk Douglas being crucified? If u do, u need to c a psychologist
ОтветитьI saw the remake of The Manchurian Candidate instead of Princess Bride as a midnight movie. There were five of us, two guys, three gals and us guys wanted to see Princess Bride and the girls wanted Denzel Washington. We were voted down. That would have been the greatest theater experience ever. Instead we saw a rather forgettable remake.
ОтветитьSpaceballs should never be on any best list, least of all the funniest moments. It was a huge letdown after the great Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein.
ОтветитьBefore watching this , i hope " porkys : wanted , look out for this prick" scene is in the top 5 .😂
ОтветитьOne of my absolute favorite scene is from „trading places“ when Dan Aykroyd, dressed as a St. Claus drives back drunken from the party. Eating half a salmon through his beard and tries to commit suicide in the rain. Man! What a pacing.
ОтветитьI'd have to list the Marx Bros stateroom scene somewhere on this list too.
ОтветитьWhen you were talking about a performance moments, I would have thrown in Eddie Murphy in the country and western bar from 48 Hours.
ОтветитьBlazing Saddles and Monty Pithon have only funny scenes! So...there are not only 10 funniest scenes...lol!
ОтветитьLloyd throwing the snowball right in Lauren Holly's face in Dumb and Dumber is one of the hardest times I've ever laughed.
ОтветитьI won't take issue with your picks or honorable mentions. But I will take umbrage that there's no mention - anywhere - of A Fish Called Wanda. A guy in England took a heart attack and died because he was laughing so hard (not a bad way to go).
ОтветитьA fish called Wanda absolutely needs to be on this list
ОтветитьYou’re right, trying to explain humor is not humorous.
ОтветитьThe Yu and Mi sence in Rush Hour is a great example of wordpaly.
ОтветитьYou’re very much wrong about his girl Friday. It’s not mistaken identity. Cary grant is purposefully messing with the lady. He knows what he’s doing
ОтветитьJohn Houseman as the driving instructor in Naked Gun giving instructions to Stephanie on how to flip off other drivers
ОтветитьEvery minute of JFK
ОтветитьYou come across as a pretentious nerd, and this list is fucked lol.
ОтветитьWhen the horse falls over during the national anthem in Borat is the loudest I've ever laughed in a theatre....
ОтветитьSo the glass that goes to the floor when the mirror broke magically disappeared when Groucho came up. Interesting.
ОтветитьYo I'm drunk in Japan watching this... after 13 plus years of experience in the industry, I just want to say-
1. Dont let them rush you. It's possible you've filmed a bunch of these ahead of time, but the ADr on this sounds like you were rushing a bit to get it done. Your voice acting is still stellar. But, it definitely sounds like, they dropped a script in front of you before you were supposed to go home and you didn't have a say in the matter. I've been there, it sucks. |
2. They better be paying you. Cineflix got bought out by IGN like BOX Office Mojo got bought out by IMDB. And unlike BOM, CIneFlix still has it's mojo... but be careful not to let it tread into Watch Mojo territory. Don't get pimped for the sake of numbers and a huge platform getting bigger.
3. ... I forgot 3... maybe it was formality? Trying to connect so much with millennials? O shit... this was released years ago... still applies. lol Bye
Orfeo's Humor Conundrum: a double-blinded placebo study
Abstract: 343 jokes were told in English to various groups of people (total population sample 1,977). Groups were divided as follows: people awake, people who did not understand English (the placebo group), and people who were asleep (the control group; as this group's participants slept with both eyes closed, this was the double-blinded part). Participants graded each joke on a scale of 1 to 10 from "super funny" to "disgusting." An objective scale based on volume of laughter and intermittent gagging sounds was included in the assessment of the joke's value. The simplified formula used is
S(sub n) + hAhA(dB)/ugH(dB)
In plain English, the scale number is added to the difference of the laugh decibel level divided by the disgust decibel level. (To ensure no division by zero, the decibel levels included background sounds, such as drinking, yawning, and roller blading.)
The following conclusions were based on the calculated results:
Orfeo's Humor Conundrum: Every joke, no matter how funny, will be offensive to someone somewhere sometime.
Orfeo's Humor Conundrum Reversal: Every joke, no matter how offensive, will be funny to someone somewhere sometime.

I think you missed something in My Girl Friday. Cary Grant clearly knows the old man isn't Friday's fiancé. Her reaction when he starts pretending to think he IS is the giveaway. She gets the joke and essentially rolls her eyes, "You do you." Still, a great scene.
ОтветитьThe sidewalk scene in All Of Me is one of the funniest and most brilliant bits of physical comedy I've ever seen.
ОтветитьHis Girl Friday would have been So Great For Goofing On Oneself In Reality, In A Movie. The 2 In This Movie are When Cary Grant (Walter Burns) has to Describe The Ralph Bellamy Character (Bruce), Saying, He Looks Like That Fellow In The Movies, Ralph Bellamy. LOL. The Other Is When Grant Says, The Last Guy That Said That To Me Was Archie Leach (Cary Grant's Real Life Name, before He Changed It), A Week Before He Cut His Throat. LOL
Ответитьin "The Legend of Burt Wonderstone" -- Steve Gray's final act had me laughing so hard I missed the next 5 minutes of the movie.
ОтветитьI would have to say that the funniest scenes I’ve ever seen were Harpo is escaping a bad guy during the opera in Night” at the Opera when Groucho looks at the singer pl@aying the gypsy witch and says “Booga Booga Booga!” With his big googely eyes- I lose it every time because it’s so incongruous
ОтветитьIMO The Team America sex scene is the funniest scene ever. Actually fell off my seat into the aisle of the cinema
ОтветитьI could promote Blazing Saddles for the top ten; what an incredible masterpiece 🎉
ОтветитьThe funniest thing about this video is that you think you know funny.
#10: not funny at all, should never have made the cut.
#9: Just OK
#8: Definitely in the running
#7: Thumbs down in the context of "funniest"
#6: Again, Not funny at all. Maybe it was in the past, much lower standards then.
#5: Loser
#4: I don’t get it???
#3: Not funny out of context
#2: Not even close
#1: Too old. The one with Lucy and Harpo was so much better,
Whomever made this list does not know funny.
Most of the snippets were way funnier than those that made the list.
Freud is Austrian. All the same for Canadians like you, i know…
ОтветитьCan't believe you only gave Charlie Chaplin a quick shot. He practically invented comedy on screen. Just about every minute of every movie but my personal favorite is the "dance of the dinner rolls" from The Gold Rush.
ОтветитьI thought one of the funniest punch lines ever delivered in a movie was in Doctor Strangelove when, with nuclear annihilation hanging over their heads, Colonel Batguano threatens Mandrake that if he doesn’t get the president on the phone “You’ll have to answer to the Coca Cola Company!”
ОтветитьThe funniest 90 seconds on film are when the Hanson brothers take the ice in Slapshot!
ОтветитьSorry, you missed it. Cary Grant was dishing the new guy. Great work, though! Thanks.
ОтветитьThis video is a phenomenal example of why humor, like magic, is best left unexplained. A good joke is like pornography, you know it when you see it.
ОтветитьKind of hard to take this video seriously when you COMPLETELY missed the joke in His Girl Friday. There is no mistaken identity by Cary Grant. He knows the old man isn’t the fiancé. He’s simultaneously (1) being sort of an ass and (2) winking at Hildy over his shoulder and laughing at himself for being sort of an ass. Which is Walter to a tee. The thing that makes the scene work is (1) poor innocent stupid Bruce Baldwin falling for it and (2) Hildy just not having it
It’s sort of ridiculous for you to sit here spouting theories of humor when you fundamentally misunderstood one of your top 10 examples.
Sorry, but you missed the point in "His Girl Friday": Cary Grant KNEW the old man wasn't the new fiancee, he was doing this to roast/disrespect the fiancee and tease his ex-wife.
