This scene expresses so much in under 5 minutes. Here Tony is, easily the most well dressed but is easily the weakest in the room in terms of power. He’s a street thug that made it to a top position and the men in the room know it. Hence the glares they give Tony after he shakes their hands. The expression on Tony’s face when the camera pans back to him and Sosa on the couch says a lot. He knows this is BIG time shit. To kill a ground breaking journalists that could expose both US and Bolivian politicians in front of the UN there was no way he’d get away with it. I think here he realizes he’s not really on top, he’s just another assassin like he was at the beginning of the movie which I think leads to him to a state of despair which we see in the restaurant scene afterwards.
ОтветитьI always wondered what would happen if tony fell asleep during the video 😅
Ответитьis that a problem Tony? No, no f!@#$ kids!
ОтветитьNow mafias like albanian are bribing both the politicians and the media so no one is talking about it
ОтветитьEveryone talks about the characters and dialogue, but that’s maybe half the story of this scene. You’ve got the set, which is like a South American antebellum mansion. Then you have DePalma’s direction. The pan around Tony to include to include Alberto the “disposal man” is sheer brilliance. DePalma includes as many as he can in the shot to show the pressure being put on Tony.
ОтветитьThis scene was ahead of its time ...the guy from washington. ..hes CIA man..Oliver Stone did his research for this film
ОтветитьHas anyone noticed the hitman that took out tony in the end is in the room?
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьSosa was a low down, dirty, ruthless vato.😮
ОтветитьYou Got it All Wrong did you see the american guy he is propably cia he is their main man in washington or pointman of the cia he could have easily killed the opposition politician journalist or anti drug crusader he can easily take the hitman around without informing tony.. and there are alot of killers under the disposal of the cia they dont need tony… THEY CALLED TONY From AMERICA AND TASK HIM WITH THESE DELICATE JOB CAUSE TONY IS MORE TRUSTED THAN THE CIA TONY BRINGS IN THE MONEY REMEMBER TONY IS HEAD OF THE BOLIVIAN PIPELINE TONY BRINGS IN ALL THE MONEY And they thought Tony was Loyal To The Group as their Co Equal its like the Five Families of the Mafia and the Commission You Must Support Each Other and Fight a War against Outsiders.. But Sadly Tony Fucks It all he wasted His Worth and Thats His Tragic End Business is Business Nothing Personal But He Fuck it all Remember they gave Their King Tony Of Usa No Jail Time Cia Would Fix His Problem But He Threw the Game The Last Winning Shot His Contract Tragically End This is the Real Story.😂😂😂
And Remember the Bolivians are not in Control of The Usa Market Its The Colombians with the Mexicans Tony Is Cuban and In Bed With The Bolivians Tony Is The Cash He is Bigger in Power compare to all Of Them He Has America But Tony Fuck It all and all of them Lost Big Money!
I love how Tony Slouches on the coach, the least energetic of the bunch. Is this the allegory of impotence.
ОтветитьYes its a problem.
ОтветитьThe Bolivian drug lord Alejandro "Alex" Sosa… was actually based on real life Bolivian drug lord Roberto Suárez Gómez (January 8, 1932 – July 20, 2000).
Roberto Gómez was known as the King of Cocaine.
wonder why when they all sit down everyone begins to cross their legs in a domino pattern except for tony and alex
ОтветитьWouldn't this plan make things worse for them!? Think about it! This journalist was threatening to expose these high profile criminal figures and he suddenly gets assassinated? The general public isn't stupid. They'll know it wasn't a coincidence. Which could, in turn. Bring even more heat and suspicion down upon them.
ОтветитьMr sosa
ОтветитьI never understood why he send Tony on this Mission, Alberto could do that alone with maybe an another guy
Ответитьbest living room ever
ОтветитьAs the camera zooms in, the menacing looks in their eyes really make this scene very intense. They want this man dead.
Tony is slumped back in the chair looking like he's watching a football game. LOL
On another note, I wish that we would have heard more of the conversation between the journalist and the reporter. When the reporter said, "discussing it openly," that left the scene feeling a little empty and unfinished (but that's just me).
General Cucumbre.. he guards cash registers in switzerland in his off time....
ОтветитьNew money vs old money

Ответитьgood scene
ОтветитьOff once
ОтветитьMagazine
ОтветитьOnce
ОтветитьTony wasn’t the only client that Sosa had, you can see that in this scene
ОтветитьI can't believe Tony thought he could ever stand against a man like Sosa.
Sosa was WAY too connected and powerful for Tony to fight.
I'm pretty sure they all noticed Tony was high on his own supplies 😆
Ответитьwas he able to say no?
Ответить"Drug Overlord"
ОтветитьTony's wife is infertile hence the dialogue at the beginning
ОтветитьHe doesn't speak English - that's why they needed TM.
Ответитьwhy ask Tony to do this though? why doesn't Sosa just hire actual assassins for the job? doesn't make sense.
Ответитьi love how when the guy mentions the problems the camera pans to each of the guys responsible for those problems and how they hate him for him exposing it.
ОтветитьA spin off film about Sosa called ‘Sosa’ would’ve been so so good
ОтветитьShould of let Frank be the boss
ОтветитьWow, This house looks steady and This house is really nice. Where is this place? 🤔🙂👍👍👏👏
ОтветитьFirst flat screen ??
Ответить3033
ОтветитьDamn, so much evil and power in a room. As a young kid I idolize Tony, now as a young man I realize Sosa was the real G on this MASTERPIECE of a movie, and also the scene takes more sense as you grow up.
ОтветитьFor some reason the zoom shots of everyone in the room as they pop up on the TV just makes me laugh, especially the general guy 🤣🤣🤣
ОтветитьI know it’s wrong to say this but if Tony only listened to Sosa and then turned his back on him at the end, we could’ve gotten a Scarface 2
ОтветитьEven the way Sosa introduced everyone is a slight giveaway….” tony, this is Pedro Quinn- president of sugar corporation. Edward, this is Tony Montana.
General Edward Straussen- Commander of the first army corp- this is Tony Montana.
Just Tony Montana. Not Tony Montana of Montana realty company or any further description. Basically just saying here, lemme introduce the guy who’s gonna take the hit for our problems
The acting in this movie was ahead of it’s time
