Girkin Attacks Putin: Former insurgent leader blames Moscow for 'Novorossiya' failure

The former Russian military commander of the Kremlin-orchestrated war in eastern Ukraine has chided the Putin regime for strategic mistakes which has enabled the West, Igor Girkin said, to help Ukraine prevent the establishment of Novorossiya.

The 'New Russia' dream of the Kremlin was to expand Russia's empire by forcing Kyiv to cede eastern and southern Ukraine and enable Moscow to join-up already annexed Crimea to mainland Russia with a land corridor stretching all the way along Ukraine's Azov and Black Sea coastline.
