please viewers, when you place a rock back down, don't crush the animal, try and leave a gap and allow the animal to go under on its own. thanks guys have fun

Yes, but i would not want to face to face with a copper head or any poisonous snakes ! Otherwise i love garters, and others.

Fun fact! The vertical dark bands below the snakes mouth, along with head and eye shape can be used to identify that water snake as not-harmful, just very bitey.

I have done something similar to this already. It is pretty cool. I pet a random garter snake that happened to be on the pathway.

Is the V-shaped head a sign of a venemous snake because of the venom glands? I imagine those could be a bit large or large enough to stick out and form the V-shape. Please note, that's mt semi-educated guess and please correct me if I'm wrong! (Preferrably with a bit of info, I'm just curious about this.) I've seen 2 videos now where Coyote has mentioned the head shape for venemous snakes but didn't provide a reason why. Maybe the benom glands thing is obvious but I also feel guesses and assumptikns can unfortunately lead you astray. Was anyone else curious when Coyote mentioned the V-shaped head? He went onto something else right away but I wish he gave us a bit more info about that first. It's cool that the Garter Snake has learned to immitate this!
