So I need to control his hands with the grips.... Tha KS .
ОтветитьNice 👍 thank you great advice!
ОтветитьGreat advice on keeping a bigger opponent under control with proper grips and posture. What would be AWESOME is if you were able to show us how to escape that side control when you are tired instead of stopping.
ОтветитьI am the smallest guy in the gym and it's difficult to work with my opponents, not only are they bigger but stronger too, this video is amazing, please make more content geared towards smaller guys holding their own against big opponents... it's tough to find that type of content 🤙
ОтветитьAppreciate the video, I’m 5’9 200 pretty built, got paired up with a 6’4 260 guy last class.. was difficult to say the least. Fantastic ideas for me to try
ОтветитьLoved the narrated rolls! Keep them coming! Great to see you doing Real rolls ! Jiu Jitsu for lifetime.
ОтветитьIt's good to watch videos of women sparring with big guys for anti big man techniques
ОтветитьBut he’s is just grabbing your shirt and not being a threat
ОтветитьWhat would you suggest for a 115 lbs women against 190lbs+ guys who are brand new and just want to smash and go hard all the time? How do I avoid getting muscled around all the time?
ОтветитьGreat commentary. Big guys are so difficult to roll with so any help is appreciated. They smash you and tire you out.
Keeping feet on hips is a great tip.
Also I recognize my need to improve my bottom guard game.
Nice little vid on dealing with bigger guys
ОтветитьStay humble
ОтветитьI would have gone for a north/south choke on that purple belt bully after his harpoon sweep attempt. I have an awesome dvd from Marcelo Garcia on the north/south choke. Also, that bully purple belt is way out of shape!! This came down to that black belt being in much better condition and using pure skill.
ОтветитьYou DO NOT look 55
I hope I look like that
Professor you look great at 55. Good for you. Oss
ОтветитьGreat video , really cool to see you actually live sparring and using the techniques , my main training partner has about 35kg extra weight on me so this is very useful information
Ответитьawesome, please do more like this!
ОтветитьWould’ve been interesting to see what would have happened if it continued at the end. When you’re flattened out by the big guys, it’s horrendous escaping.
ОтветитьSuch a great video! Thank you! Oss
Ответитьomg thank u so much for this video, sir. i always go into survival mode with the biggest guys in the gym - just hanging out next to their thigh haha. going to work on a few concepts here and keep referencing this video until i have a better grasp of them.
ОтветитьDon’t roll with guys heavier than you unless you want permanent injuries from these fatties
ОтветитьI’m here because I started BJJ a month ago. My friend who practiced no Gi is bigger and stronger. He’s never been ranked but he tapped out a black belt so now I’m here trying what can help.
ОтветитьVery methodical in the way he explains what he is doing.
ОтветитьAll well and good unless the opponent has no shirt on, no belt or sleeves 🥴💩
ОтветитьThis is excellent! Thank you so much for posting this. I am 5’, 2” and 123lbs. I have been a blue belt for almost a year and the struggle is real lol. I have definitely been utilizing the feet in the hips, my knees, etc… I am just now beginning to feel like I am gaining traction with larger opponents. This was so helpful. Thanks again!
ОтветитьI don't understand whole English, but I've seen this video three times.
ОтветитьReally great video. All its true. I know, I small gays
ОтветитьThank you for this strategy really I need it Because I am new guy in jujitsu Thank you again professor
ОтветитьI’m 12 and skipped adult class and am going in to mastering basis class so I need a new choke for bigger opponents and stuff like that thanks
Ответитьthanks for the video professor, I'm trying to develop my game rigth now being 6'1 160pds
. at the middle of the video, after both of you briefly stood up, you pulled guard, and into an x guard right away.
Do you recommend pulling guard and some type of sweep set, right away for bigger opponents?
What's your advice on how to engage a vigger opponent, head on or guard pull?
Thanks. Much respect and appreciation.
This is really great content man
ОтветитьThis Purple Belt sure doesn't appear to know how to pass guard. Smh. You sure as hell do not let anyone grab your sleeves. BREAK GRIPS big boy !
ОтветитьAwesome video. I'm a black belt and I teach at the Foundry in Farmington, Maine. You and I have almost identical games when it comes to dealing with bigger stronger opponents. I use sleeve grips almost exclusively and play a tough open guard game. I always try to wear my opponent out because I know a big guy can't last too long, especially when I'm trying to preserve as much strength as I can. When I feel like they're getting tired, I push their knees back constantly, so it looks like they're flying like superman. Then I use the push sweep to get them over. I like to go for the straight arm locks like you did in this video too. They're right there for the taking. Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьThanks for this!! please do more this is so helpful
ОтветитьAny tips for no gi?
Ответитьyes, more small people videos, please!!
I found this really helpful. as a small person (125lbs and 5'2), most of my instructors don't have a lot of tips to help me out specifically. As a new white belt (2 months in), I haven't gotten the experience to find the best way it works for me, and these videos help a lot!! (though they're hard to find). I really want to improve, and specifically am looking for tips for people with short legs. my sparring partner is similar to me, but she has really long legs, which is a big advantage for her.
i'm not the smallest in the gym though, there's one teen who's probably 4'11, and 100 lbs, big props to that guy, cause he's actually really good.
You sub the same guy at blue belt and brown belt ? Lol
ОтветитьOn Harpoon sweep 2 he failed to have an over hood on your arm being locked in by his elbow on your belly button. It will not work like that most of the time. I’m the only one at my gym who likes to play that game, but guys get wise to it and start to base their arms in the direction of the sweep to prevent it. Oss
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks!
ОтветитьThanks for the Vid Sir. I am 53, about 172 and a black belt…usually the oldest guy in class. I’ve been trying to use tech on bigger guys that I use on smaller guys or ones my weight. It usually doesn’t work and they get on top. Thanks for being humble and pointing out some factors for men our age. I’ll be checking your channel for similar vids. Take care! 👊🏼🥋
ОтветитьThis is good stuff. Thanks for sharing but underhook the right arm pit and trap his left tri-cep next time upon entering the butterfly set up. He'll have nothing from that point :)
Ответитьim 6feet but theres a fat ass at my gym thats 300 has not neck hes a hastle
ОтветитьDamn, the Gi exploded a bit. I've only grappled a few decent small guys. I've felt many quit on themselves when they make a mistake. For context I'm 6'2 260ish white belt (former Offensive Lineman). It's wild sometimes even blue belts break under the pressure, and I'm mostly just defending.
Ответитьvery instructional video, keep going. Thanks.
ОтветитьInspiring!
Great work 👍🏼🙏🏼
60 year old playing grips without tape, what a beast
ОтветитьGreat breakdown. Learnt a lot!
