My grandmother, the only living grandparent I've known as an adult just died today. I live in VA and she is in NY with my mother and the rest of her family. I had worked all day and THIS song came on the radio just before I pulled into my driveway. It has got to be a sign. I'm thinking it would be a great song to play at the end of the funeral.

I discovered this song some years ago because I looked up Bob Dylan's worst albums, and this one was amongst them. So i looked up the track listing and this song title caught my eye. I looked it up and it has since been one of my favorite Bob songs

The saddest thing about Bob Dylan is that he continued to write songs and make music way after his excellent farewell album 'John Wesley Harding' 1968. He had a great 6 years 62-68, he changed music for ever. Some of the best music ever written IMHO, and OMG, what a voice..!
But subsequently, just one brief return to previous levels of songwriting/performance with Blood on the Tracks (even then, the unreleased out-takes were far supeior) and then what followed was endless decades of self obsessed junk with that horrible excruciating and ever-thinner 'tortured rat' voice, where on earth did he get that from?
Some people have the decency to retire.
And death IS the end, obviously. But you already really knew that didn't you?

I seen the movie about Dylan COMPLETE UNKNOWN on January 1st 2025....I laughed,cried and came away from it with a soul full of inspiration.

Just got out of bed (2am, fighting suicide) and listened to this song.
God tells us, Heaven or Hell...... death is not the end..... it's either one or the other.....but it's forever...... death is NOT THE END.
So! Don't kill yourself.
