Noita, The Unsolved Mystery of the Cauldron Room

The emerald tablet Volume X gives old detailed instructions which could hint at it. The reason I point this out is that in the cauldron room lies a giant tablet in the back art.

Many games have the feature to transport itens between characters. Maybe this can send a want from one run to another.
Thats why you cant use it with mods, to prevent a cheated op staff to be given to a vanilla run

Alter of permenance, hmm, and the background has an empty slate, so we write into the tablet the permanent state of something? the world will shift into this permanently like a fungal shift but across the whole game? i don't know, I'm only 170ish hours in, and I'm a baby compared to the big brains on the noita problem solving community, I will continue to play until I see all these mysteries solved.

Not sure if it means anything but when you remove all the solid material so only the background remains, the background kinda looks to me like a robed figure holding a tablet.

Forgive me if this has already been suggested and tested...
Has anyone tried burning something under the cauldron while there's something in it? Perhaps there's some hidden interaction with a specific combination of materials inside the cauldron when heat is applied, emulating real life. Perhaps gold and mud, as mentioned in "The hidden lore glyphs of Noita (early access)," as a recipe to make a soul? Maybe two materials with equal buoyancy so they can both be in contact with the bottom of the cauldron at the same time?

I think the cauldron has to do with some other secret, like the eyes.

So we know the tablet in the background is important, as mods make it go away, but why is it important, it's blank! that must mean something must appear on it. My guess is that the cauldron is a part of a bigger secret, an intermediate step in a series of steps to an end goal, and the next hint will appear on the cauldron after you fill it with something. I think that "something" is revealed by the previous step in the puzzle.

The reason I think this is the devs message. "don't worry about it right now" either means "it's not finished" or "you aren't ready to solve that one yet," and there's no way it's still unfinished. I think the devs know that no one has solved the step prior to the cauldron, and that's why the devs are telling us not to worry about it yet, because we haven't done the step before it.

idk if the puzzle has been solved yet but try doing every single type of alchemy in it

If its a temple of permeance, maybe in the future there will be a way to cache liquids there that will survive stored into new game plus.... thing is, it's so out of the way, I'm not sure that's useful at all.

My theory is that you use it to place a wand and a spell to make it always cast that spell. "Altair of permanence" might also mean to bind perks to you and keep them when you go into NG+

If date sensitive, Cauldron = Halloween? Maybe witching hour?

i feel sorry for all those people who think its a secret and then the devs decide to make it nothing special by releasing an update just like hello games did with the portals in no man's sky

Does it spawn in ng+ / pw? Is it as simple as giving you a place to put things for easy transfer?

I filled the cauldron with Ambrosia and nothing happened, but then left the area by black holing nearly straight up and found a room about 2 screens above the cauldron room and found a strange snowy room with no enemies, a bone, a couple low tier wands, and a portal. It didn't seems 'special' at all except the portal. I flew into it and it took me to the holy mountain area between the first snowy level and the Hiisi base. Nothing else happened. I saved a screenshot with the seed if anyone's interested. Of course, I had no mods on. Not sure if this was a random thing or not. Weird...

Why don't you fill the cauldron with, for example, berserkium and then you leave your noita in the cauldron and quit the game and continue playing the following day?

Perhaps it gives you a permanent buff of a liquid that you're marinating in for until the next day.
I'll try it and report my findings.

Does the cauldron content come from the Internet, or from the game logic?
i.e. how's it go if you unplug Ethernet and change the time on your PC?

Thunking of the names, if nullification removes perks, then maybe permanace could save perks for future runs, but that might be a bit hard to program in, tho tboi does that with eden's blessing

altar of permanence? try throwing a wand into it... see if it pops up in another run. that was the first thing that came to mind.

A few days ago my cauldron had a potion of acceleratium in it. Dunno if that helps.

wonder if filling the jar with alchemic precursor is the key. seems too easy so probably not.

isnt there like a broom wand for removing visual stuff? what if you use that on the tablet

if you go to finland at 3 am and pour the blood of the devs into a cauldron, the cauldron ingame will open revealing the noita sex update

I wonder if anyone thought or can put a perk in the cauldron, perhaps the perk remains through sibsequent runs. Only speculating this because the altar of annullement functions with perks

Wouldnt be surprised if this is a red herring, and only once someone comes up with an unhinged solution , then the devs will add it in. Or they just are having fun with us

My current theory is that the cauldron is the way to permanently unlock the final orb, along with Mina's own emerald tablet.

I believe the location for both will be up in the sky Work since "As above, so below" but there is currently no sky orb to match the hell orb. There is an empty spot for an orb room where it would be, though.

I've heard that the "unobtainable" orb has a sparkbolt as its spell, and sparkbolt is always the starting projectile when you begin a fresh save even if the seed itself calls for a different start.

has anyone tried the tria prima of alchemy? we have sulfur and salt, and while mercury is not directly in the game, we could possibly substitute molten silver for quicksilver

Have you tried bringing that one lazer eye you can find in the tree (I think it’s called Paha Simla or something) to the room? Maybe it reveals a secret message on the tablet on the wall like how it lets you see other stuff like the forgotten boss. There’s definitely a lore connection to death here.

what if you dropped a perk icon into it...

Have you ever tried sacrificing your wands or a greed run?

what if you take the first letter of each liquid and map it to the days to spell out a message?

for instance:

poly = p
tele = t
water = w
milk = m
death liquid = d


then take the list of what is in the caldron for each day and apply that letters

so on day one its death liquid so the message would start with the letter D.

What if you throw all the tablests of the map in it?

the binary in its current form, when translated into UTF-16 then translated into english says beautiful sky. i doubt this means anything but its fun
