Lions are smart. You can see here they quickly ran when help is coming cus it will be 2v2 knowing that the other was already injured. They had to make sure, then chased back the other when he's also alone. They go by the numbers like humans when talking about taking over lol. There might be some but i never seen afootage of fair battle of 2v2, 4v4 or or 1v1 of a old ruler on patrol vs a lone intruder😁

Imagine when he was on his prime, he taken over someone territory and now another 2 taking the territory back. Even the lion's lifestyle looks very different. But attitude is very good never bow down fight till last breath.
