Finally got my first Blue Iris server working with DeepStack GPU, thanks to your excellent course, thank you!

Love all your videos. I’ve watch a ton of them and am way more educated on security cameras and setting up my new blue iris system as I write this. Just wanted to mention here that the links to the 7040 optiplex go to the i5 version which only includes a 180W PSU and can’t run a GTX 1650 LP video card without also buying a $20-$40 240W PSU. If using the small form factor version, the GPU can only fit in the 4x PCIe slot. Also the sata power splitter link is wrong. Needs to be specificallly a 6 pin power to sata connectors.

All that being said, if size isn’t a huge concern. The 7040 mini tower with the i7, 512 NVMe, 2 TB HDD + GTX 1650 ends up being a slightly better computer for the price.

TL;DR update your links a bit so the new folks can avoid returns like myself. Keep up the great videos!

Great Video... bought 3 Annke NCD800 Dome cameras, and downloaded/bought the Blue Iris v5 software license to a computer config recommended in this video. BI does not recognize the Annke camera which is attached to a POE switch. The camera shows up on the eero mesh network app on my phone, but does not have the a recognizable IP address. (fe80:0:0:0:be5e:33ff:febc...). What am I missing? Any thoughts out there...?

I have just found a second hand USW POE switch gen2 so I'm about to build a unifi network and do away with my Netgear setup. Next investment will be the dream machine to control it all but I'm wondering which one to get as I'm also keen to set up a computer with Blue Iris and a Plex server.

I'm wondering if you could weigh in on the best option between unifi protect vs Blue Iris?

I also have 2 Dahua cameras (waiting to install) and I'm leaning towards getting the Hikvision Gen2 IP Intercom for my front door.

Hi, Which model do you use for deepstack? I've just installed and set to the cameras as you suggested but its detection seems useless. It detetcts nearly every kind of things as person, like gas heater wall outlet, oil barrel, tree leaves. I hope there's a useful model. Thanks.

Do you know if recordings can now be configured to record the primary stream when using the "continuous + alerts" option? I did see you posted a work around reference guide: RLC-810A Friendly Alternate Configuration -- but before I dive in i'm wondering if this issue was fixed/changed. Hi there. I used your video to setup BI/DeepStack a few months ago. Many of the settings had changed in the UI since you posted the video. But I was able to muddle through it pretty well. I came back to the video today to rewatch the last section on fine-tuning Deepstack. But I can't find the options that you reference. For example: right click and "Analyze image with DeepStack" - I don't have this option. I do have an option "Testing & Tuning" -> "Analyze with AI", but choosing that doesn't seem to do anything.

Then I read in one of your recent comments that "codeprojectAI is now the preferred AI to use with Blue Iris". Can you elaborate on this? Have you moved to codeprojectAI in your setup? Any plans for making an update video?

I have streams on 2 PTZ cameras but no PTZ control. Model is not on the known camera list and ONVIF selection does not work either. They work just fine on my Dahua NVR but not on BI. Any suggestions?

Did Deepstack get killed? I used this video to setup my system a year ago (great video btw!) and it has been working great ever since, but about 3 days ago deepstack apparently stopped responding to blue iris and I am no longer getting alerts "AI:Alert Cancelled [AI:timeout]...". The deepstack website is down and the github link no longer works. The service is running on the PC but does it rely on some online service as well?

Thanks for your great videos. I have 5 Reolink 811A cameras running to 5 ports on my Netgear switch. I then run an Ethernet cable about 150 ft to my Internet and then to the NVR. I can view all 5 cams through my Reolink software but can only view one camera through BI. Is this a limitation because I combine them through the switch to the NVR? Thanks!

I have done a bit of looking into this but I am curious to your thoughts/experience on it. How does Blue Iris currently handle fisheye lens cameras and the image dewarping. It looks like as of a year ago or so it could be done with recorded video but not live. Any experience with fisheyes on BI?

You use this whole dedicated computer to access the UI on your NVR? I do not understand. This doesn't make sense to me.

i saw you have the camaras conected at the same swtich or network, how can i add more cameras or another NVR is on at direfent location?, or how can add more NVR locate on a different city?

I have a son that has tonic clonic seizures every day (stiffening and shaking). We would like to put cameras around the home and on his bed when he sleeps. Ideally, we would like to be alerted from a camera system when he is having a seizure. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just commissioned my Blue Iris NVR with 6 cameras. I plan on adding 8 more. I had to buy a new PC for the added horsepower requirements but it works very VERY well. I could not have done it without your videos. You are very well spoken, to the point and make things easy to understand. VERY well done!

Is the Stream Profiles for Main and Sub something that ONVIV auto populates or does one have to type this in?

Anybody watching this should be aware moving clips from New to Stored on the same drive is just a wasteful use of IO bandwidth. Just skip Stored altogether, increase the size of New to max. If you move files use another drive for storage.

It's been great running BI 4 or about 3 years

But recently for some reason when I run BI it slows my system to an unusable state

I've reinstalled BI5 and it's running ok with one camera
If it had the same performance issues after installing the remaining 4 cameras I have I might have to get a better CPU

Hey dude.. sorry to trouble you.. this AI ordeal - I'm confused a bit, you've got deepstack and now there is something called CodeProject ? What are you views on the latter? Is it better? To be honest, I use blue iris with a zone just to get alerted if someone approaches my house. But the trouble is, I get lots of false alerts, lights, cars, animals etc can trigger, so was thinking of implementing AI to limit false flags.. I was looking for a tutorial and found your videos, but now BI keeps referring to CodeProject in it's software update.. so was wondering what are your thoughts man ? I used blue iris for a few weeks as an experiment, while I was waiting for my NVR. I borrowed someone else's key. I installed it on a decommission laptop using an external 2.5" 4TB usb hdd. It worked pretty good and was way more reliable than using the reolink windows app and used about 12 watts an hour with the display off.. But because of windows updates, the reolink NVR that I now use, is even more reliable. The only thing missing from the NVR is direct hdd access.

Could I run blue iris on a Dell Optiplex 3050 3050m micro desktop intel core i3 3.4ghz 8gb RAM 500gb hdd?

Wow this is all real cutting edge, Im now using synology with Axis P3245-LVE ( AI inside the camera) and that works really well also but Im looking for a product that can be trained for more products ( that we sell) and ideally count them, like cement bags ,ply sheets nothing small but big easy to detect items etc so I can easier check on the workers if they steal.

i'm wondering if we can run the deepstack on a docker container and use the IP port on blue iris since blue Iris windows gpu download link is not working any more!

Would this work with Wyze cameras setup using their RTSP firmware? I realize that they don't have the highest resolution, but for the price and the fact that they record 24/7 it is a good value for my situation.

Would deep stack computer vision be more reliable than Univiews Smart Intrusion Cameras or Dahua's Person/Vehicle detection?
