Right click on the start menu and select disk management.

Most of these adapters available online are just x1 speeds. Or x1 slots only.

Just so you know you are much better off using Exfat for NVME M.2.

NTFS is designed for hard drives and using NTFS on an ssd or NVME will just make it slightly slower for no reason at all. NTFS is only best for big hard drives.

Hope you are well. I'm using a old version of PC which motherboard is Gigabyte GA-B85M-HD3 and the CPU is Intel CORE-i3 4th Gen. Also for your nconcern I'm using SATA HDD for my storage. Now I want upgrade my storage to NVME M.2.
I have one PCIEX16 slot which is used for graphics card. And have two PCIEX1 slot. I want to use the PCIEX1 slot for NVME using a adapter.

Now my question is can I have the best performance from NVME card using PCIEX1 slot. Or I'll go simply to SATAIII SSD?

Thanks Man! I had similar problem that i didt now how to fix. But this disk manager fix it!! :) So now i have extra 480 gb from a 2.5 ssd kingston + WD SN850 1 tb + 1 tb my passport extern on 1 tb. For a week ago i had only one 500 gb hdd in my msi gl62 7rd:)

Good Video Tutorial, but making the M.2 storage bootable is the most important way to speed up the computer and that's where there are some compatibility issues especially with some HP Z workstations.

How about some benchmarks? Crystal Benchmark works well for drives.

hi i have one question i have gigabyte GA-H97-D3H with m.2 slot can you tell me what should i do to make it work because every time i try install m.2 to the motherboard the system restart and keep doing that until I forcibly turn it off and take off my rams from the board and but it bake and the system work fine on the normal 2.5 ssd i have i really need help ? and much Appreciated for this video.

I have and old mobo (socket 1366) and i am trying to install windows 10 in expansion card with NVME M2 2TB. I received message that :

"Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure That the disk controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu."

Can i bypass this using WinNTsetup 5.2 or clover ?

My motherboard PCIe descriptions are as below. So will i be able to use M.2 SSD on this. I am planning to set this as my primary boot drive, will that work?

Hello there, my nvme disk went in raw format.

I did this on a Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 motherboard (from 2010, which by the way only has BIOS and PCIe 2.0 slots), M.2 NVMe connected via a PCIe card (AXAGON PCI-Express To DUAL M.2 SSD (NVMe + SATA)). BIOS sees NVMe as an additional card (Addon Cards) but cannot boot from it!! It can work as an SSD for data storage, but... very expensive storage...

To sam uradio na osnovnoj ploči Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 (iz 2010 godine, uzgred koji ima samo BIOS i PCIe 2.0 slotove), M.2 NVMe spojen preko PCIe kartice (AXAGON PCI-Express To DUAL M.2 SSD (NVMe + SATA)). BIOS vidi NVMe kao dodatnu karticu (Addon Cards) ali ne može da butuje sa njega!! Može da radi kao SSD za skladištenje podataka, ali... vrlo skupo skladištenje...
