My experience with a couple of BMWs and Audis was that the original battery lasted aboth 8 years. Toyotas' seem to last about 5 years.

The original battery of my 2006 IS350 died because of not using the car for a year. Put a new $10 battery and has been working fine for almost 2 years now. Didn’t do any battery registration. So is this car battery registration just a European car thing?

Where you went to 'Battery Regulation', mine didn't work. It gave me an error saying to check the connection etc. But, it did work under 'Gateway' and I had the same options as you afterwards. Do you think this still 'Coded' the system? My car is a 2012 Audi Q3 Quattro
