Im a mechatronics technician apprentice and i cant tell you how many times ive fixed frequent automation stoppages with a simple deep clean as well as isolating controls so people stop sticking their dick beaters where they don't belong.

1, if it moves and isn't supposed to, duct tape
2, it it's supposed to move and doesn't, WD40

I watched this video 7 years ago when it came out, since adopting these rules I've not come across anything I couldn't fix with the right amount of research, tools, and effort.

Funny, your spot on...I work maintenance in large mfg. Plant....don't listen to anyone...run through everything and manual up...usually I just grab a flashlight and check it out...talk with operator and lead...

I've a sneaking suspicion this methodology can and should be used on the government here in the UK.

When in doubt. “ RTFM” Read the fucking manual.

I’ve always wanted a lathe around this exact size!! I’ve been watching out for a lathe for quite a few years but can’t seem to find what I’m looking for that’s used, can’t afford new with what they cost. Especially one that can do what yours is capable of for under a thousand US dollars. Not easy…

Late reply because the algorithm had me watch this in 2021. Another rule in troubleshooting: If you tell yourself "It can't possibly be that", and try everything else because you're just sure it couldn't be that, then it's probably that!
