It’s the TIRES all day❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️
ОтветитьFantastic video 🎉 great work 👍 👏 🎉
ОтветитьGreat video. Just went in to buy a Crosstrek and came home with the Outback Onyx edition. Live in Minnesota so it will get tested. Thank you for the video and excellent explanation of everything.
ОтветитьIt's a fantastic snow scene with SUBARU X MODE!
ОтветитьI’m driving a Honda civic 2013 and I think I will climb better than you it sad to see how you drive this car give it more momentum and it will be way easier…
ОтветитьCrossClimate2.
ОтветитьBro you engineer when it comes to testing cars hats off 👍
ОтветитьThis video convinced me to get the Outback Onyx XT. Perfect for Vermont winters. Added bonus: the turbo really zooms when you hit interstate.
ОтветитьI love my Subaru Outback!
Ответитьis dual X-Mode same as X-Mode + traction control off? I am struggling if I should choose Onyx/Wildnerness vs. other trims. Heard a lot of comments on this topic they are same but want to hear from you guys.
ОтветитьJust curious, regardless of what mode you're in or what kind of tires are used, whenever you are testing going up on hills, are you flooring the gas pedal or modulating as necessary? Great video! 👍
ОтветитьI like those wheels you are using with the snow tires. Could you possibly tell me the brand and size?
ОтветитьIn Subaru, XV 2022 model in Australia we can put a turbo in
ОтветитьWhat wheels are those ?
ОтветитьI wish they made a taller SUV for real off reading
ОтветитьVery informative video. As a new owner waiting for my Crosstrek delivery, I especially liked the tip that you keep your foot in the throttle but not floored when you're in X-Mode. I'll need to know that. I really appreciate how you talk through what's going on at the same time as showing the videos. I learn a lot from these videos.
ОтветитьDo u think the crosstrek would do better in those conditions because it's lighter
ОтветитьThat X-Mode was amazing, getting up that hill at all on all season tires. Even more impressive that it could get down smoothly. That said, there is no replacement for winter tires!!! My manual 05 Outback XT is pre X-Mode and can battle anything in 1st gear, with the right tires.
ОтветитьYour incline was almost even. Second, snow by itself is not always slippery, ice or icing on the road is, sometimes snow can even help you, if it started to freeze for ex. So a good test is in icy-rainy conditions. Not saying that the X-mode isnt good, simply the test has to be different. And yeah, the tires are some 60% of the job, that is why if you get chains, even the most complex traction controll will be beaten.
ОтветитьWe have to put our Outback into Xmode just to get up our private road and into our garage during the winter months.
ОтветитьGreat test! Watched this video again and saw that you mounted the tires with the rotation the wrong way :/
Ответить1990 interior colors 🤮
ОтветитьI always give you a presumptive thumbs up. It's easy to see how hard you work to provide us with realistic off-road capabilities instead of manufacturer mumbo jumbo. Thanks for all of your efforts.
ОтветитьWhy not just put chains on?
ОтветитьA tip that I have been taught from my instructors when driving off-road is to "keep your fuckin wheels straight". He said "stop turning your steering wheel" and it really helped with maintaining momentum as I kept trying to keep the car going in a straight line. When you turn the steering wheel you are just digging into the mud and making the situation worse for yourself.
ОтветитьPerfect show ...could you do one for best subaru for young driver's witch one would suit them best on a Dads budget. They are very out door kids camping hunting fishing...etc
ОтветитьThink the outback is my next vehicle. Is the turbo as reliable as the regular boxer engine ?
ОтветитьWhat is that orange light on the rpm gauge that was on with the all seasons and off with the winter tires?
ОтветитьCan we all take a moment to appreciate Jason Vo, the editor? That must have taken eons to edit raw footage from like 12 cameras...
ОтветитьWas the VDC always enabled? I've seen videos there it was easier to clime up with a disabled VDC and just with the normal X-Mode. Make that sense and why? Could someone explaine it to me and which combination you would recomend. Or keep it in the "Manual" 1 like a low gear i've seen in a other video. What the Subaru pro's thinking about this? Sorry for mistakes in the english, it's not my mother tongue. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍 Own a Forester XT 2017 with just the normal X-Mode.
ОтветитьDoes the Ascent have deep snow mode ?
ОтветитьWhat is your favorite awd and 4wd for this test so far?
Ответитьgoes anywhere Lol
AWD will only take you so far.
4x4 is better.
I miss my 1986 Loyal 4x4 Hi/Lo manual
Winter wheels 18×8 or 18×9?
Ответитьi have subaru crosstrek 2016 manual transmision and I was interested to see you on your show
manual transmission vs automatic
With fresh snow😑 Why not just go there in the summer? Try snow after 4months with ice and all other goodies, this shows nothing really. Also thats not even real winter tires.
ОтветитьFresh snow normally always has better traction and why I often move over a bit to drive in snow, when the ruts are beginning to freeze (ice=more slippery). lol GOOD vid though, but a little "too bad" seeing the newer Outback's don't 4-wheel as good as my last 2003.. both 6 cyl. This is my FOURTH straight new Outback and a Toyota is probably only other new car I'd want to get, but also more $. Good vid, thanks!
ОтветитьEnjoyed it. Know now the capabilities of x mode & snow tires as well. Tells me a lot. Thanx.
ОтветитьThis video right here, is why I own a a Subaru Outback Onyx XT. And I love it. I was on the fence before...but after watching videos on the car? Totally sold.
ОтветитьHey Ryan,
We live in the mountains between Wenatchee and Leavenworth. My question is, when we need to replace our 19 Outback (it currently only has 10K miles on it), what type of tires do we need for year round travel? We average 4-5 ft of snow. Our road is private so we have to do all the plowing and maintenance. The county road, which our road is off of seldom is plowed by the county.
When we get down to Cashmere, the roads are passable. But without AWD or a 4X4, it is impossible to travel the 5 miles into Cashmere or highway 2.
Would the Falcon Wild Peak trail tires be good for both winter and summer? Or do you recommend another tire?
Just subbed 🤗
ОтветитьI've never pictured myself driving a Subaru. But I'm a happy owner so far the past two months. Living in the tropics doesn't really get me into snow, but I do mess around on beach sand effortlessly in fully inflated street tires. Haven't gotten stuck yet, but I do have track pad with me just in case.
ОтветитьI bought mine after seeing your original review of this vehicle; how I discovered this awesome channel!
ОтветитьThanks for the demonstration of x-mode with winter tires. I have 2019 Crosstrek which has only basic x- mode. So far haven't needed to use but now I am eager to try it. Keep up these demos please!
ОтветитьIt's not the all wheel drive.
It's the snow tires that matter.
For 47 years I worked at German car dealership.
When ABS was introduced, the crashed cars filled the body shop when winter occured. When all wheel drive was introduced, the body shop filled up again. Drivers thought ABS and all wheel drive was at fault for their exceeding cornering and braking limitations, on summer/ all season tires. Clients argued that they never had to buy different tires before. Ignorance and arrogance.
2- wheel drive or 4-wheel drive- with freezing temperatures, snow, ice, slush, fit tires that are correct for conditions.
No matter the car maker, it's the rubber that meets the road. Your tire store should've supplied you with tire bags to protect you and the cars interior.
Great demonstration 👍👍☕
Thx for your test with all season and real winter tyres of the new Subaru Outback XT 2021. It convinced me to order it for our common Ukrainian Solar-PV sites of 375 MW, for our SOWiWA UKRAINE, in 2022.
You did a real great job. Take care and stay healthy, Ulrich
You guys are probably the best salesmen for Subaru with all your honest testing of their cars. They ought to give you one for keeps.... or maybe they already did?
Ответитьso, with an outback without deep snow setting, like the Limited model, can you just engage X mode and turn off traction control and it will be almost like X mode deep snow?
Ответить
