Do Extract Campers Bring Any Value To Tarkov?

Less than 2 weeks into this wipe, a level 27 named "stooders" (17kd, probably cheating) is sitting at lighthouse on shoreline with 3 minutes left on the clock. Exit camping scavs while playing 16h a day is beyond what my mind can comprehend. Feels like he knows something I dont, so I'm gonna be following in his footsteps and exit camp for the rest of the wipe. I'm tired of trying to play this game "normally", I just get burnt everytime I try. Running around doesnt work because of exit camps, ratting doesnt work because of people running around, exit camping seems like the only option left.

its not the players fault, tarkov greatly rewards u basically not playing the game, wait till end of raid then just do stuff when everyone is dead, or wait at extract the entire raid, there is nothing built into the game to reward you for actually playing it

they are not bad. the issue is there are tooooo many of them. if the developers do something to encorage those players to take more risk in raid, not punishing them but something they found rewarding in explore the map, fight other prayers or some other thing would inprove the game and will reduce the amount of rats and extract campers.

as always. bring nades, and if you don't use all of them in the raid, it's time to nade the extract for exactly this reason. Grenades are insurance as well.

No shit, pretty solid video with fair critiques on extract camping. It's a thing that I've heard far too many people in the community complain about but in my 5 or so years with the game I can count the number of times I've been successfully killed at extract by a confirmed camper on one hand. Maybe 2, lol. So, it's never been a thing I cared to entertain as a legitimate "problem".

Is it scummy? Absolutely. But I'd argue picking off some poor shit snack halfway across woods with an SV98 from sniper rock that had no idea you existed in the first place is pretty scummy as well. The difference between the 2 is the required skill of course. You summed it up well with the whole "Unfair advantages" point. Personally, I can see the appeal of camping (in a general sense), but it's not for me. It's too boring and I only have legitimate fun in Tarkov when it's during a dynamic fight where me and my team have to make quick decisions on the fly and narrowly make it out. But that is for me and me alone.

Thinking you're adding value to the raid by simply taking a spot and staying in a place where someone is obligated to come by game rules is very sassy. If there was no rule to extract by a certain spot, you would have to wait few hours for a passerby, which only proves you're exploiting game rules for own gains.

You are not any type of value to the game, stop lying to yourself to validate your lame gameplay. Go camp places where enemies can come from all sides, even if it means camping questing spots, but camping extracts is not right.

Rats are what make Tarkov so great. The only folks angry about it haven’t learned how to counter their tactics, and expect Tarkov to be just like every other FPS out there. The best part about rats is how they trigger all the try hards sitting in their mommas basement.

Extract camping is something that can be mitigated with map design. Interchange is easy to extract camp cause you get one extract that is not conditional and that one is small and easy to fully cover. If there were more viable extracts and their escape zone was larger then extract camping would be less viable. The more opportunity and advantage there is, the more people will do it. Simple as that. D2 is an absolute nightmare, but people choose it still over the alternatives. Easily tells you that the alternatives are even worse. It's all just an issue of map design.
