The Ultimate Dremel Bit Guide

This is a great video, but I caution users that Dremel routing bits and especially their router bases are of modest quality (even the plunge base). In particular, their bases are unstable and do not result in uniform cuts and lines. They are all a fraction of the price of high quality 3rd party attachments, but still not worth it. I'm a guitar maker and use my Dremel a lot, but I would never, ever use any of their accessories apart from the most basic sanding drums and cut-off discs (which are OK). They simply don't have the accuracy I need, and the 3rd party alternatives which cost much more are much, much better. Cheap 3rd party alternatives are no better than Dremel.

I used mine to cut out boxes in drywall and by the 2nd or 3rd box it became clogged with dust and the front bearing seized up solid and bricked the tool. I ended up just getting a drywall cutout tool like I should've in the first place 😂 Fair warning.

Some time ago I bought a small set of rubbery polishing bits for my Dremel, which I found very useful for removing rust from tools. Unfortunately they have worn out and I somehow cannot find them any longer in any hardware shop. Any suggestions?

oh man, i remember how i got my first off brand dremel as a kid since i was into woodworking/metal crafts and i had a rusted knife collection so i used the metal wire brush and i had no shirt on when was using it. one wire came loose straight stabbed into my chest 😂 nothing really happened. i was a buff teen .

Finally a decently detailed and well demonstrated video on all those bits... and pieces, which doesn't take one forever to watch.
I get so easily distracted and confused if they're too long. 😔

Don't own 1, don't need 1 at present. But I'll deffo watch 11 minutes explaining the differences in bits for them. Nice.

When I was really hoping for was to figure out what all these other accessories that come in a kit are for. There's one that you should. There's one that you showed obviously for routing bits. Another I see here appears to be some sort of an extension. Tube, (as it says) another says, a flex shaft, a , brush looks self explanatory, ;, Something else here that simply says stand but looks like it clamps down somehow with a hand crank screw and Cone shaped wheel at he end all around a housing or bezel I couldn't possibly figure out what the h*** this thing is. But you least explained mandrels, Was also hoping you could explain the flatwheel. an different polishing pastes. There also appears to be what looks like an Allen wrench, but it's just a rod.

I hike a lot in the woods and thought i could take my Dremel with me to occasionally free up passages blocked by trunks. Wondering if the EZ544 or Kutzall Burr could cut easily medium sized trunks up to.... 30cm wide?

I want to lightly grind/engrave my name into a painted aluminum bike frame with my dremmel. What type bit will not load up and perform best for a clean looking engraving. I see the aluminum bits in the video but thinking they may bounce on the material and not maintain a clean edge? Anyone with personal experience please reply…

Sanding disc looks useless. I'd rather use a wire brush disc
