the monorail is not appearing in my city😭😭😭
Ответитьhe makes this look so easy, yet i always fail so magnificently at it. i am shit at getting public trans to work in my cities, lol
ОтветитьI enjoy building cities but cities of Skylines in Xbox is hard :(
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I’ve been looking for, thank you so much
ОтветитьAs a fairly experienced cities player, I can say that this is a great tutorial for beginners! Well played sam. Keep it up.
ОтветитьMetros?
Ответитьwhat about trolleybuses?
Ответитьyour
residential growables look so nice, what mod is it?
why do cities in the US not use double decker buses?we use them everywhere in Dublin and London, not sure on the rest of Europe but they are popular here, they carry like 70 seated passengers i think, and save alot of space. seems logical no?
ОтветитьVery interesting video thanks. What map is that, its really nice?
ОтветитьIs there any purpose for the trolley-bus? I personally wouldn't just categorize it with buses due to CS's wire limitations
ОтветитьVery helpful. Thankyou.
Ответитьsorry for the noob question, but where is the highway that feeds into your cities? I didn't know you can just have cities that are not directly connected to the highway. Is that because your not using many industries or you can just replace highway functionality with train stations?
Ответить"ok it's actually a thousand but-"
ОтветитьJust use underground. Use trams in your residential and commercial subs and connect your subs with underground. Tram moves 90 and underground 150 and if this doesn't stand your demand you can raise the budget of each line individually
Ответитьlol I tried to rely on buses and there were like 1200 people waiting at once stop
Ответитьwait what about metros?
ОтветитьWhat happened to chirper?
ОтветитьI slightly disagree when it comes to the possible usages of buses and trams.
My home city is not particularly good with public transportation, but it relies on trams and buses solely and so I was always curious if in Cities Skylines it's feasible to make a city of a few tens of thousands of people which uses mainly trams and buses, + trains for longer distance travel.
Although what is important to mention regarding the layout of the city is that not only is it quite decentralised, but some of the areas function more like separate cities, although train ridership between them is very high.
With a city of 73 000, I have:
88% traffic;
buses: 3 050 residents + 880 tourists;
trams: 2 900 residents + 620 tourists;
trains: 1 290 residents + 1 380 tourists.
for a total of 7 240 residents + 2880 tourists weekly from those modes of transportation.
My trams and buses service central areas.
I also have 1 300 cyclists weekly
Buses and trams do fine in central areas all the way up until the densest scenarios.
But oh my god, there's so much tweaking with trams and buses so they don't clog up everything...
Am I too dumb to get how to put all these things when the streets were already built and this option was locked?
I just started this game a day or two ago...
Having lived in or visited several US cities and visited a few more I know from experience how lack of good public transit can make getting from one part of town to another to be a chore or worse a traffic nightmare (I'm looking at YOU, Miami!)
Ответитьwished you started with how to connect the bloody things, I still don't know how to start
ОтветитьWatching your City and then seeing mine... I think we're playing very different games haha :(
ОтветитьIve heard of road hierarchy but not public transport hierarchy
Edit: chirper be thicc
Bus - LDR areas only
Trolleybus - Fancy Bus / also for LDR areas only
Trams - LDR/HDR areas, best for HDR areas
Monorail - Inside downtowns, business districts, busy streets; connector between residential to commercial/industrial
Metro - Almost the same as Monorails; I prefer using crossover terminals over the underground metro stations, it looks so weird besides tall buildings).
Trains - Totally agreed with SAM BUR. Don't be lazy! Watch his video.
Ferries - Fancy but not just fancy. No need to explain.
Airport - No need to explain also.
Taxis - I don't ride taxis. They're expensive. Haha
Heli, Blimps, Cable Cars - tourism purposes, mix and match with the parks.
Welp, there goes my crosstown express line. Thanks for the vid, definitely gonna be applying these concepts.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. It is nice to have alittle bit more explains on the public transport uses than what is available in game .
I am new to your site , but would love a video on sightseeing buses and sightseeing tours .
It keeps saying I need public transportation to enter the city to work but I can't get them to work even though I have bus routes going to them. HELP!
Ответитьlove it, thanks
ОтветитьHi Sam, I was wondering what mod do you use so that the vehicles seems to run at a slower rate? Thanks
ОтветитьThis is a phenomenal tutorial. Thank you!
Ответитьwtf are trams and taxis I've never seen those
ОтветитьLet's say you have tram going from transport hub through a high density residential area towards another transportation hud with shops this will make the tram realistic and good since you rarely see trams go in loops.
ОтветитьTrams vs monorail is silly it should be monorail vs metro and trams vs busses
ОтветитьWhat do you think about ferries?
Ответитьunpopular opinion: monorails and trams become useless with bike ways + encourage biking policy
ОтветитьThey are ok in Cities Skylines, but trams are totally overrated and are the worst in real life. They have the inflexibility of a train being fixed to tracks but are subject to traffic like a bus. Where I live, it's faster to walk than to take the tram.
ОтветитьMy personal design guide for metro is elevated in low density areas and underground in high density areas
ОтветитьWho would win for public transport? An entire city with millions of dollars at its command and a state of the art network of transport. Or, A few elevated walk-way bois.
ОтветитьIn my city im having Trouble getting these citizens to use my public transport systems ive been using metros taxis buses And trains for long distances How do I get them to use the public transport systems
ОтветитьI'm gonna be qualified to be a city planner myself with all the stuff I am learning just to play a game haha.
ОтветитьI have a high density 4 tile city with 100,000 population and only bus as public transport with about 600-800 buses. Thousands of people use it and traffic stays above 90%.
ОтветитьOur cities look so different. Mine have like zero unused tiles. Every single space is occupied by something.
Also, whenever I put in any public transit option, no matter what, it is never used. Always has 0 uses. In every game I have ever played on Cities Skylines... So I have design my cities as car only cities. Occasionally I'll see traffic jams that cannot be corrected and install expensive public transit to handle it, but after a few months of remaining at 0 uses and having no impact on traffic, I will inevitably bulldoze them to save the money.
Better to use trams instead of a bus when you get to much people on the line. So on general rule trams ussaly have higher capacity than buses. If they wait to long they will take the car anyway. To many busses makes it congested and jammed in the traffic. Remember that monorail is more like a metro. Buses and trams are the short distance ones, metro and monorail are the medium distance onces and trains are the long distance one
ОтветитьMonorails are noisy? When I was in Las Vegas, specifically to shoot video of the monorail, it snuck up on me because I had trouble hearing it over the traffic noise on the surface streets. The loudest part of those trains was the air conditioning units on their roofs.
ОтветитьOk I’ll admit 😔🤚 I’m American so I have no idea how to do public transport 😂
Ответитьlet me guess, your here because your population is going down rapidly
ОтветитьWhat map is this?
