Chimera (Chimaera araisodarus) Stk Animation

Test animation I made to keep the channel alive.

This is a creature from the project formerly known as 'Rulers and Roamers' based on the monster of Greek myth of the same name.

Chimaera araisodarus is a large, herbivorous, non-mammalian synapsid endemic to Paleogea, equipped with horns, a massive throat pouch for thermal regulation and display purposes, and a clubbed tail for defense and combat. These are solitary animals that are highly aggressive and territorial, but only congregate during the mating season where males will duke it out via display and battles for mating rights with females. Obviously these temperamental beasts do not mate for life, but the mothers will defend their young to the bitter end for the first few weeks before these offspring have to fend for themselves.

The chimeras' horns are far too fragile to be used for combat. Instead, these structures are used to detect incoming natural disasters like tornados, hurricanes, volcanic activity, and even giant monsters. For this reason, ancient humans assumed the chimeras to be the harbingers of these storms and whatnot. In fact, their mating season congregations take place a month before the Paleogean hurricane season.
