Tolle Idee, aber die verwendeten Dosen sind doch wohl aus Weißblech und nicht aus Zinn. Zinn würde bei dem Feuer schmelzen.

Great idea and useful to have incase of power cuts in the winter, at least you can heat up hot drinks and soups easily. One difference I've seen is instead of filling the gap with cement is to use a mix of soil and dry grass/straw made into mud/cob which is then stuffed into the space instead. Like cement it dries and acts in the same way as both an insulator and to make it last longer but it is also much lighter and possibly easier to obtain for many people as well as less messy.
