I work hard all my life paid all taxes plan ahead and the grovement going to take a big chunk when I die. My children have to work till they are in their 70s before they can retire by then they might not even going to have any state pension!!!! Time to leave this country! It will never be any good. It doesn't want you to work hard, it doesn't want you to look after yourself, taking my money and give it to the one doesn't or can't work, the poor countries and the migrants......what about me and my children???

I absolutely despise this government, those that voted these muppets in have a lot to answer for.

Firstly, an annual growth of 5 to 7% over the long term is fantasy land. Inflation plus 1% is what my advisors suggest. Secondly, i am now at age 68 and after a lifetime on basic rate tax i am retiring. I have worked, sacrificed and saved all my life so that my retirement wont cost me my home. I have deferred retirement in order to help my children in their parenthood hears. And after saving so hard i anticipated leaving them a decent and useful legacy on my death. But after april 2027 my estate can expect a bill of £half a million. Just for living in a terraced house in hertfordshire and saving for my old age.

George Osborne changed the system where your pension provider kept the remainder of your pension when you died. As pensions remained free from Inheritance Tax it made financial sense to maximise your pension fund. So people were encouraged to save for old age. Why can’t politicians find economies in public expenditure rather than simply raising taxes? Why did we not create a Sovereign Wealth Fund rather than pay off the country’s debt?
