A reminder of when going to the cinema meant no phones beeping or flashing, or Gen-Alpha's/Gen-Z's talking loudly throughout the film and it was affordable. Fuck going to a cinema now. Whilst the films are always better on the big screen, the constant disruptions allowed to run riot while gutless ushers or inept security let it slide make going to the cinema nowadays a huge ripoff. Let's not talk at all about the prices at the snack bar.

A fantastic transfer of a great cinema intro. I've never seen it look and sound so good!

this logo has extra hidden features:
1. only when Film Projected: the rotary-disc shutter (2/3 blade) created an arcing swept flicker effect from the top-right at 48/72 fps, which the logo both uses as a flicker artifact effect and as the direction of logo movement
2. Film Loop: the logo shows abstract concentric loops of film as seen when unspooling/loading and as part of the projector mechanics.
3. Thin-Film interference pattern: the color patterns reference the reflected pattern seen on some motion picture film stocks when viewed at glancing angle.

After seeing this logo many times when I was little, I want to say that I’m proud to be an Australian. I can guarantee you that if you’re born to be Australian, you get to experience the proper nostalgia that not even Americans can compare with us.

Anyone on the Audiovisual Identity Database needs to replace the standard-def captures of this logo with this 4K scan.

Wow, never have I expected to see the Roadshow logo and its iconic jingle to appear in my subscription box this morning. This logo is very iconic for the Roadshow jingle, but it has become way more famous & iconic on the Village Roadshow Pictures logo since. It’s also quite odd to see Roadshow’s distribution label is no longer distributing Warner’s films theatrically, as they’ve been with them for so long now. (They are still distributing the home media titles though!)

As an Australian, I have to say it feels really endearing that you've been uploading Australian-based stuff. Thank you for keeping these alive in a way!

Also, this logo is most likely from 1992 or so.

Does it have a black optical soundtrack, a cyan/blue optical soundtrack, Dolby Digital, DTS timecode and/or SDDS?
This could help determine a close approximate of the date.

You know Village Roadshow actually started in Croydon Victoria and that's where my dad and my grandparents used to live the namesake of the Village Roadshow is it used to be named after the Croydon Village drive in that used to be on Maroondah Highway and it was named after a shopping strip called Croydon Village
