I just got back from two weeks in Ptown where I stayed with a friend who had Andy's book. It's visually beautiful, the recipes are great and his personality shines through. Notes for future me:
This uses about 12oz of fresh cherry tomatoes or about 1 can of chopped tomatoes
Skip the apricots (it'll be too sweet)
Serve with salad and or rice/pitta for more carbs

Mexicans have salted dried plums that are available at Latino markets. You'll find them in the candy section where the tamarind paste candy is located. I wonder if it would be a good substitute?
