Saw this video recently (I am really sorry), and "Whenever I say your name" is for me if not my preferred song, one of those among which is difficult to make a "selection". But that is very subjective.

Sting has shown through his career that he is a gifted composer and musician. He is capable of mixing elements of different genres as reggae, gospel, jazz, and rock in almost all its flavors, and even more.

"Whenever...". is very interesting song for me the crescendo arrangement done by Sting and his collaborators (my excuses of forgetting specific names right now).
For me there was some kind of quoting the ascendent structure of the music in the Ravel's Bolero. One can feel a strong and tender intensification, by Sting, Jo Lawry, and the music of the Royal Philharmonics.

In some moment you feel the growed intensity of devotion and at the same time the growing intensity of passion that gets it climax with a fabulous performance of Jo at the point of transition to the last part of "Whenever..." .

Sting knows perfectly who to bring aboard into his projects.The addition of Jo Lawry, in the particular case of this song, had the effect of elevate this song to the next level, literarly. 

After having saluted with respect Michel Bigles style of singing this song, Jo gradually enter in her own style and artistic personality, because of her great voice, her deep knowledge of technics of singing, her capability of get the high notes with tenderness and emotion, and his capability of insert the climatic point in this song with sweet passion and giving elegant sensuality of a lover.

This concert in general was great and I assure is one of the most important in its fruitful musical career.

I have been a Sting/Police fan since their inception and have seen him in concert over 20 times and this was without a doubt my favorite concert. Hearing his voice/music with the beautiful power of the orchestra was truly incredible. I watch this video every few months to reminisce.
