Great video, I'm taking your advice on the Emperor paint, it has gone up to £120/10litre now though...

The toutpret tube filler has a specific job ,I wouldnt rule it out, cracks that move can't b filled with a solid filler ,only a flexible will do ,I think u ruled it out to early ,I've filled a crack 6 months later the crack reshows ,The filler didn't fall out it just cracked along the same line ,The flexible did the trick ,I know it's there but water proof

Hi Charlie we painted a large rendered wall similar to yours, (25 year old render though!) which was previously painted white, no sign of moss of fungi or any of that, we painted it with sandtex masonry paint with microseal technology, and it's turned yellowish within 2 days.. we went back and painted it again with DULUX WEATHERSHIELD exterior masonry paint, it did the same thing almost immediately. so we coated the wall in SBR bond which formed a nice thick shiny layer over the old stuff, painted again with another brand and it's gone YELLOW as a banana, any help?

Hi Charlie, I'm researching exterior paint for my 1930s pebble dashed (patch repaired) and as usual came back to my diy go to guy (you). How has the emperor paint held up? I'm very tempted by this brand but as one side of the house gets hammered by the weather I'm concerned...

Very informative video. You mentioned a soakaway you installed near the house walls, could you enlighten me please? I’m getting rain splash on my new render
and a soakaway with pebbles on top might be the answer. Kind Regards

Top man and wicked VT, just need to ask a few things,I'm a bit of a novice, I'm painting over render that's already been painted (a few years ago now) want to freshen up the side of my home, what's the best extension roller/sleeve to use?, Which brand?, I've got sandtex paint for the job, ladders etc, Hamilton/Harris brushes, I'm pretty much good to go, but I don't want to muck it up, my wife is expecting a professional job!!, Any advice would be so welcome, shall I use a paint scuttle or tray?, What pile if sleeve?, How many coats?, Many thanks and take care 👍

Moisture has got behind some of my paint and it’s peeled right off around one of the external chimney breasts. How do I avoid that in future ?

It’s just a video advertising numerous products. No wander you are given so much stuff. A cleaned out pot noodle tub is great for using when cutting in. Pot noodle and carton for 70p

What did you use to protect your painted drainpipe - "Polythene Tubing cut into long strips" do you mean a polythene sheet ?

Super helpful video and convinced me spending a little bit on decent rollers, buckets and poles is well worth the cost v the astronomical quotes from professional P&Ds to paint my house!

Really interested in this Emperor paint. I've got a house that hasn't been looked after all that well but can't afford to paint the whole place. I have some fairly large chips of render I was going to take to a local place to get matched but I have no idea how to go about getting it.

Do I just buy pots of white and take it somewhere, along with the chips, to get it tinted?

emperor paint is by far the best masonry on market the most breathable and its adding a extra layer of insulation on your property despite all this as a decorator is incredibly hard to get customers to go with it they still choose retail sandtex from wicks incredibly even customers who can easily afford it customers do make it hard to do your job properly

Hi Charlie do u think spot priming the metaset with zinnser bin prior to painting would help hide the cracks. Am thinking of doing this b4 painting my render is flat.

This DIY vid is at a different level
BTW I clean my roller in the utility sink, rolling back & forth in an inch or two of water - hard work admittedly, and not quick but it avoids splashing yourself with paint!

HI Charlie did you not use the recommended primer that Emporer highly recommends using before utilising the paint but not when using the silicone cream?

Just had my property rendered white and then the windows sprayed black and some overspray got through or under the paper, therefore causing me to have to repaint over my 3 week old render! this video has given me some useful tips! I guess these methods would be the same for the silicone based render and the silicone render paint I’ve just purchased from wetherby for £127 🤦🏽‍♂️
