Very interesting video
ОтветитьAdam you're a great teacher
ОтветитьAfter watching this video many times and taking your quiz test, now I clearly got it.
What you want to say is that both if and whether can be used interchangably in a sentence , but imply different meaning. Sometimes we can only use one of them. Which one has to be used , has nothing to do with a specific type of sentence, instead it has much to do with what the speaker implies. A sentence that contains two different options, does not necessarily mean to have whether in itself. If it says two options but implies more than two, we use 'if'. Similarly if a sentence contains neither of the options but strictly implies two options, we mandatorily have to write whether instead of 'if'.
For conditionals, use if.
For mentioning the fact that implies the idea of 'regardlessness, use whether.
Hi adam, you are exellent teacher
ОтветитьIf you make a video about 'either' or 'neither,' it will be cool for us. Whether you make this or not, I must gain knowledge on that topic.
ОтветитьThanks a lot Adam.
How to write the word Wonder :
Wonder land or Wonderland ?
Wonder woman or Wonderwoman ?
I saw so different writing ways on the internet
What's the rule about it ?
Thanks 👍
Great teacher. God bless you sir.
Ответитьif I have a drink, I'll choose whether I want it hot or cold
ОтветитьThanks a lot 🌹
ОтветитьThis could be so much more simply explained. Start with the only time ‘if’ is exclusively correct - conditional phrases. Give a number of examples, some staring with ‘if’ and some with ‘if’ mid sentence. If it’s not conditional, then in every other case either ‘if’ or ‘whether’ can be used - the easy check being can the sentence be followed by ‘or not’.
ОтветитьIndeed you are the best
