You know - I’ve always wanted to study medicine at university. I’ve been told to not be so ridiculous - that it’s not my calling. That that boat has already sailed.
I didn’t get good grades, but I retook them. This year I’m applying to oxford. To study the very thing I was told to not to.

Thank you, to all those who told me I couldn’t - because now. Now I can.

I've listened to this when I was in wheelchair and now not. I still come back. It's a winnable fight it's a worthy cause.

Today was a minor setback. But I’ve realized everything I’ve overcome up to this point. I use that to push me forward, so I can’t quit now. Not now, I’ve come too far to only come this far!

Eu vou voltar dia após dia, e depois de um ano eu quero olhar esse comentário e me lembrar quem eu era, e o que eu vou me tornar.

This reminds me of joining the military, I joined when I was 26 firstly to throw myself into the deep end of life, challenge myself to survive that experience and secondly as an engineer hoping to use the experience and qualifications as a stepping stone in the civilian world (which I will do eventually). Now I have the promotions to leave and get a really good paying job (as i have seen others in my position do) and I can leave but I haven't completed my full 12 year term of service yet that I signed for on that line and I've seen many others who signed and couldn't handle the job, people who came up short. Watching this video makes me feel like I have a duty to finish what I started for the reasons I did primarily.
