I am planning my plunge into the X universe and soaking up all these kinds of videos to at least ease the dreaded early hours of not knowing shit. xD
ОтветитьThe suggestion to get the Scout is THE Advice for newcomers. Good job
ОтветитьFirst class guide, helped me a lot to struggle through the first hours, thank you mate!
ОтветитьLong time elite fan looking to get on this
Ответить10-20 million credit grinding in and I am still playing the game wrong. Sigh.....thanks.
ОтветитьLooks like they improved this game a lot
ОтветитьGood video. Even though I've got hundreds of hours (Thousands if you count X2, 3 and Rebirth with their DLC's.) I've not played X4 for 18 months so I'm going to be rusty when I come back (Probably in the next hour or two.) and being 60+, I forget what and how to do things! 8-\\...
But the one thing I found funny, it wasn't for me, was when you land and making sure your ship is in "Hold Position" behaviour.
I didn't once.
I needed a break and to make a cuppa tea (It's an English thing!) so landed. Got out of ship and went to the ship trader, or someone to do something. I can't remember. But I forgot to pause the game. When I came back, I spent 10 minutes running around the station looking for my ship (Maybe it had gone into storage?) before going into the map. It had travelled through some 5 or 6 sectors and was hurtling through space heading towards a gate to somewhere...
However. It took twenty plus minutes of me waiting for him to come back. Needless to say, I wasn't happy with my pilot and gave him a good dressing down.
The problem with spaceflies is that they are contraband. I dumped them for that reason. The last thing I need is to get busted when I am starting out. I also found other illegal items that were worth a lot but again I dumped them because it's not worth w/e trouble it could cause me. Or did I do something stupid, because it's not a issue?
ОтветитьI don't know how the devs of the game expect new players to enjoy the game. The tutorials tell you how to fly, some mining and other tutorial, but not really what to do. It just plops you into a station like shown in this video. Like WTF am I supposed to do now? LOL This is why I hate sandbox games. Some are even worse and don't even give you any tutorials *cough*Ark*cough*. I don't need my hand held, but I do prefer some sort of guidance. Even 7 Days to Die tells you what to do when starting out, then it's up to you what you want to do afterward.
At that note I appreciate videos like this, because I wouldn't have known I had satellites, or even what to do with them. And why the fuck did it not tell me I "need" a captain? I realy don't feel like I need one since I am "captain" of my own ship.
What about the Boron Scout ships? Are they a good alternative?
ОтветитьGreat fun watching your stuff. Thank you very much !
ОтветитьI like complex games, but I think I'm gonna quit on this one after a few hours playing. I've gotten a few millions trading and I don't know where or on what to spend them, I have traveled the highway back and forth, I have destroyed a few enemies, I have walked on space to recover some crap, I have upgraded engines (combat) and weapons (now it seems I need licenses), I have recruited a pilot and a mercenary and given them some seminars, I have updated software... I don't know what to do next, this seems pretty boring.
One of the aspects that disappoints me more is how difficult it is to do maneuver with your ship in combat. I am using a high-sensitive gamepad and combining both joysticks and programming all keys, I can't still fight effectively against other spaceships (maybe it's because my spaceship is low-hey?). Damn, it is so difficult to track them. It is like the ship lacks 180 degrees rotation and the ability to fly upside down, like in Chorus. Not a big deal, but it's not fun.
So how did you have enough money at the start to be able to afford the upgrade and a pilot? I only started with 5k credits?
