How Long Does it REALLY Take To Get Your Texas Real Estate License?

Can you take the state and nation test before doing the background check?

I’m in San Diego but I want to sell a home to my parents in Texas, where my fiancé is and where I plan to move to in a few months. Can I study and take tests etc all from San Diego and then just go to Texas for the fingerprint and to sell the home? Thanks so much in advance for your help.

Hi Devren, How long did it take to find a broker and sell your first house after the licensing?

I took the exam 12-28-23 and studied like 4-6 hours each day. Took notes, read books, watched videos, and practiced question. This video was good but very few question come up that were over those topics. It is a very difficult exam that has lots of weird questions and math problems. It took me almost four hours. good luck everone.

Trust me, if you are working full time and studying, it will take you at least 6-8 months or up to about a year. The course is long, difficult and boring. Make sure you really want it. This 6-8 week time frame he mentioned is complete bogus.

I saw other video that sign up TREC during the course and apply the application, once you done the course, submit the certification. Is that really making a time saving to getting a license?

And what study material do you recommend?

After you finish your classes online how long do you have to take your state exam ?

Do you have to have a mentor or be attached to a brokerage group to get the license?

prob to long ago to get an answer but can u take out grants for the school ?
