Woooowwww excellent explanation i love this Channel.
ОтветитьThomas looks like your dipping your hip inside… not great technique
ОтветитьThis lesson was much lower quality than some of the others
ОтветитьWohhoo so much fun thank you!
Ответитьthank you for japanese subscription
ОтветитьLooking at different tutorials my impression is that in carving much more weight distribution is to the back, not central or front but back of the skis, looks like skiers almost sit on the heels, so the movement is like we are sitting, otherwise to achieve high edge angle is not possible, is my feeling, observation correct?
ОтветитьVery good !
ОтветитьTip 3 requires minimum speed. Do not do this slowly...
ОтветитьHow old is this video ?
Ответитьamazing, yes i (58Y) can ice skate and I tried on Big Bear christmas brake 22' one day skiing and ...IT WORKs!!!! (first time on skiiiiiii...)
ОтветитьI think I am in love with ur skiing Classes
ОтветитьHello, which skis are you using and what is the length of the skis compared to your height? Thanks
ОтветитьThanks for this lesson. I'm a hockey player and snowboarder, and always wanted to learn to ski. I hope my skills on skates and board transfer to skis this season at 40+years old.
ОтветитьI am a good skier but 70 years old. I have been working on trying to get more edge angle for years, but don't think my body is strong and/or flexible enough to do so. Do you find this to be the case with older skiers? I do, however, notice I ski better when I just use the one leg drill-but still not a great deal of edge angle.
Ответитьapplying skating to carving should be careful for a skating turn starts with turning head and shoulders - the very thing should be avoided in carving
Much clear instructions, thank you so much 👌
ОтветитьThis is such a great video! And I’m not even a skier!!! But I still learned a lot and wish I knew this the very first time I hit the slopes in Chamonix (also last time!)❄️⛷
ОтветитьMedium turn sequence :Tilt the inside leg first , ( feel the stretch at the llium and femer joint ).seconded, Feel for pressure on the outside foot (in the arch between the big toe and the heel ) (wait )and the body will configure to the balance needed to perform the desired turn shape, repeat till reach the chair .Try it on easy, then intermediate, then everywhere,
ОтветитьThis is an unfortunate example of an instructor who tells you what you should be doing ("increase your edge angle"!), then shows some drills (without explaining the feelings in the muscles or joints to target), and then we see him skiing and measuring his angles (as if we can "copy" his skiing by watching -- newsflash, we can't). As for the comparison with ice skating, well, I do ice skating. While there are some similarities to skiing, I fail to see how one can think "skating" while skiing -- I've tried it, and it didn't work. The unanswered question is, what does a skier need to do, and feel, with his muscles and body to achieve the desired carving style?
ОтветитьThere are literally NO tips on how to achieve higher edge angles in this video. These are drills...not tips on how to actually move your body to achieve high edge angles.
