I really think Ryan was about to uncover something bug the Sheriffs didnt want shown on TV. Thats why they were pushing him for info. If he said anything they were going to immediately investigate which would have blown his cover and they would have pulled him for "safety". Since he refused to talk, they just moved him to an area where he couldnt do much

My last time getting out for real not for a project I felt the same as him. Some of those guys are just humans too that could use help. It really hurt to leave some there but I earned my freedom, sometimes you just gotta look at it as that

Jail have a reputation to being ruled by violence only, may it be on the convicts or police side, Ryan just proved the opposite by himself without even fighting once he organized the all thing, stopped fight before it happened, heal people (that the police would left there to die apparently), he should took the sherrif job

Let’s just say Ryan told the police officers all the information that they wanted to hear. All they would’ve done is used that information to try to crack down on illegal activity, and it would just be a never ending arms race between inmates and police officers. Which doesn’t make it any better for anybody. If you want to improve the jail system, do it systemically, the answer is not stricter crack downs. The answer is uprooting the jail system as we know it and making it more rehabilitation focused rather than punishment/disciplinarian focused.

"You are not a prisoner, you are a person" is messed up. He was trying to make him feel better by saying that but in turn he called all the prisoners sub-human. Prisoners may be hard headed, and violent on occasion, but they are people too, and it was clear the staff of this prison did not view them as human beings but caged animals.

Oh it’s so nice to see a jail actually give ppl necessities. I was just in cook county jail and my first night I didn’t even get sheets let alone anything else. You gotta beg the COs for toilet paper, soap, towels and so on. It’s awful.

Ryan was incredibly good with how he described his plans, i feel like he could’ve mentioned more, but even the way he responds to drug traffic in the prison system he says “i don’t know how much to say, i mean you guys have it on camera”. they know what’s happening

For anyone wondering what happened to Garza, he's now a real estate agent and a multimillionaire and started up his own firm.

I was a medic. I found myself incarcerated in Northern Iraq and stateside. Ryan's experience largely reminds me of my own except there wasn't anyone to pull me out or watch my back. He seems like a nice guy...hope life is treating Ryan well.
