Iron Fish Distillery was established in 2016. It is located on an historic 120 acre farm that was first inhabited back in 1887. They use sustainable practices to operate their distillery and to grow some of the rye and wheat that they are using in their spirits. They distill vodka, gin, rum and whiskeys, and have been sourcing bourbon and finishing it in a wide variety of barrels while their own ages. On September 3rd, they will be releasing the first whiskeys of their Estate Series. They were made (in part) utilizing grains grown on the farm and they are 100% distilled and aged at Iron Fish Distillery. During our visit, we had the opportunity to try two of those whiskeys. They were both wheat whiskeys, and were very good, particularly the four grain (Mad Angler Whiskey)! I wish I was going to be in Thompsonville, MI over the Labor Day weekend, so that I could get them!
