🛒 Ingredients:
¼ cup jau ka daliya (cracked barley)
1.5 cups chaach (buttermilk), divided
1 cup water (adjust as needed)
Salt to taste
1 tsp roasted cumin (bhuna jeera)
1 tsp pudina powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp black salt
green chilli, finely chopped (optional)
2-3 tbsp chopped coriander
Ice cubes
👩🍳 How to make it:
• Mix jau ka daliya with 1 cup chaach, water, and salt.
• Cook on low flame until it comes to a boil. If not soft, add more hot water and cook further. It takes time for jau ka dalia to cook properly…let it cook slow and nice for around 30 minutes.
• Once thick and creamy, let it cool completely.
• You can even store the remaining dalia and use it over 2-3 days. Just mix chach and season it whenever you want to drink.
• After it has cooled down, add fresh chaach and whisk until lump-free.
• Season with bhuna jeera, mint, black salt, black pepper, coriander, salt, and green chilli.
• Add ice and serve chilled.
