They cut off the final questions, the response is very interesting.
ОтветитьGreat talk, a bit short alas.
ОтветитьIt looks like someone is trying to "microsoft-ize" linux !! In the future i see it as "do what we say, not as you want to " mindset. and I don't like it. I use linux for a reason, i guess it's time to switch to BSD !!!!!
ОтветитьThe most important stage is not discussed: shaking one's head in disgust, trying BSD, and never looking back.
ОтветитьThis "shaming" does not work....this is not an "emotional" issue...we are avoiding the dangerously flawed systemd
because it causes system errors and serous security issues. Shaming informed folks will NOT work....
"...in favour of a sane boot-up and application management is totally "Microsoftising" GNU/Linux... "
And Mark Bauermeister just explained why systemd has no place in Linux. We do NOT need this
functionality in Linux. This is the flawed and vulnerable Microsoft way of doing things. Linux has
many applications doing one thing thing well.....application management has no place in Linux...
I am new to linux.. Runlevels is important. I can understand SysV as a newcomer. Systemd seems to be to intrusive to be unix philosophy friendly.
People don't care about security anymore. If they think it's more convinient. Why should anouther language be used for init. It's too close to the kernel and does to much. Logging should be booted as a seperate script not part of Systemd..
You know what slowed down my boot time, deactivating intel ME. It hangs on boot, Go ahead get your faster boot :P
OpenRC and runit work great
ОтветитьFunny joke in 2014: "Lenart works for redhat. Redhat who according to slashdot in the 90's is the microsoft of linux. So when microsoft hires 'satan' to work on linux ..." 2023: hold my beer
