In my experience, I get noise blind to it after a couple of hours but others can smell it on me. I get wafts of it later in the day and it is present on my skin :)
I did not want to like it since it is so popular... but I do like it :) I use perfumes more for myself and enjoy the way they make me feel. Compliments are nice but they also mean that the scent is more mass appealing, and I like to smell more unique.
I can not deny BR540 is a cult classic and started something special in the world of fragrances.

I find that the extrait has a Tobacco scent to it. I own both, but only wear the extrait in the dead of winter-the other is my summer go to!

i want buy Baccarat extrait or Gentle fluidity gold. Which one is better you think? I want a perfume for all year around. A perfume Thats smell luxury, feminine and really expensive. A perfume that Reminds to Monaco or Beverly hills rodeo .. a perfume that the Most like? which one is better 🙈

When i where the baccarat rouge 540 edp as well as You by Glossier i can't smell it an hour later but other people can and i get compliments and my husband can smell it. Now if i shower and change my clothes and spend sometime without it directly on me for a bit then pick up the sweater i wore earlier then i can smell it on it again so it is definitely still there but after awhile i just can't smell it. My signature fragrance for years was the dkny green apple and i got lots of compliments on that as well but i loved that i could smell it on myself all day. I never got nose blind to the green apple. Idk why. I love the 540 and You but wish i could enjoy it all day like i did the green apple.

Can men wear the red bottle or is it more for women? I like the gentle fluidity silver. I bought that

On my skin, the Extrait is more femenine and delicious than the EDP. EDP on me is spicier and more masculine actually 😅

I have tried a sample of both BR 540 and Extrait and was sad that I wasn't blown away with all the hype! I actually was at Dillard's and a lady game me a sample of Thomas Kosmala No 4.*This woman KNOWS what people like..its kind of scary 😂)I decided a few weeks later to give it a shot and WHOA.... it literally gave me ALL the BR 540 HYPE I expected and more for a fraction of the price. I find it interesting than only men influencers make the connection that it's so very similar DNA. VERY Curious if you get a sample of Thomas Kosmala No 4 and do a wear test over the day and see if you also see the resemblance? I'd love to hear your thoughts! TK no 4 is BEAST MODE. NOT office appropriate! I can still snell it over 24+ hrs, after showers and I swear I get phantom whiffs days later 😂 It's also the ONLY fragrence my bf has EVER complimented me on. So, I absolutely 💯 has to run to Dillard's yesterday and buy the travel set because they were sold out of the big bottle! I'm totally into unisex, Clean girl esthetic fragrences lately and just bought Le Labo Another 13 and Commodity Paper-. I'd love to hear your thoughts on "clean girl/freshies/and unisex" fragrences!!❤❤

Erin must travel in some pretty elite company if she is smelling it so often that it is losing its “specialness” and becoming “ordinary”! I think you have to try these because the extrait de partum lasted literally for a week on the trial card I brought home from Neiman. My bath smelled for days — just from the card! So I bought the extrait and I’m so far stunned that this bottle smells so overwhelmingly of alcohol and lasts about 20 minutes on my skin. I may have to return. I cannot understand the reason.  

Meanwhile the Atelier Cologne was bought by L’Oreal and the Cedre Atlas and others are being discontinued. Total bummer.

I have a 20% off coupon and been wanting to try the extrait. I do have the sample but I haven’t even touched it. But thanks to your review I bought the extrait. I have finished so many bottles of the 540 edp 😂

I brought this from amazon and think I brought a duff it did not smell of anything I was really disappointed 😔 I'd waited ages to buy it

The eau de parfum smells cheap like Thierry Mugler Alien mixed with Bath & Body Works In The Stars. It’s airy and lacks depth. It also doesn’t last long. The extrait is richer, woodier, sappier, and more syrupy. It’s like a strawberry mint cotton candy with a forest wood backdrop. The eau de parfum is not worth the investment. If you want 540, skip over the EDP and get the Extrait.

Hi Erin, I've not subscribed to your channel "yet" and I'm new to MFK Rouge 540 Extrait. And I have to be honest with you, I LOVE it but it doesn't last AT ALL on me nor can others smell it on me. :-( It makes me so sad because it's a great fragrance but no one smells it on me. The only reason I didn't return it is because when it is there, I do love the smell. I've even began using the body silk with it to layer hoping it would last longer...still doesn't work. But I do love it.

I don’t want to knock people down. I have worn it out with one spray on my wrist, but no compliments. How many sprays is typical to wear without being over the top?

It smells like a whole lot of nothingness after the opening melange of medicinal antiseptic iodyne and cat piss fades. Of course, if you enjoy the cat pee top note then you will want to get more into your hair and on your clothes. That's where it lasts longest.

Never seen a perfume with so much mixed reviews. Im scared to buy a bottle without trying it in shop as Samples don't smell close to the original thing and they can make you make a wrong judgement about a certain perfume . I think it depends with skin type otherwise if you follow reviews you can end up with an expensive blind buy but if this perfume works for you I think its a big score 😉

It's a classic. So many clones. And might I say, you are beautiful.

This lady has amazing color eyes. Very attractive eyes. Anyways its expensive but if you buy like even smallest bottle and it takes 1 spray with EDP or EDT for like 3 or 4 so you use more to achive same smell power its not money savings.

I have Greenwich Village and it is great. But Baccarat has better sillage and gets more compliments. People say Greenwich is very similar to Baccarat. It's airy but no comparison.

Thank you so much, Erin! I bought the edp and got a sample of the extrait. I adore the EDP. Once I've really dived into all the loveliness of the edp and know it well, I'll try the extrait. I don't want to confuse my nose. Preliminary spritzes onto paper tell me the edp is brighter (as you say) but also more complex. To me the extrait seems heavier and more one dimensional. I can see men preferring the extrait because the vanilla sugar isn't as prominent and the woods are more up front. We will see. I love your fragrance reviews!!!
