Hi Merril, I got the Legend based on the rating you gave it on your website and I like it very much, Thank you for that. I also got my hands on a Manticore about 2 month ago based on the hype is it getting and so far I am not very impressed. I have not found anything over 6 inches deep with Manticore. I also do not see you using it on your videos very often anymore. Do you still think it is a great detector?

I get a repeatable signal of any kind I am digging just found a 57 Rosie with a 8 inch coil in iron and once in awhile the Omega 8000 was showing 82 , i dug 3 rotted iron nails and dime off to the side of the hole, but i knew it was there.

Well I was thinking about getting into metal detecting But that doesn't look like much fun. That test was really discouraging . Too much trouble.

This can't be considered an ultimate metal detector depth test with the introduction of iron or other variable, such as anything that would rely on the machine's recovery speed or discrimination abilities. An ultimate depth test could've and should've been an air test actually. The test strays further in calling a dig or not to dig, 'cause now you're also factoring in the ID'ing capability of the machine while dealing with iron.

I would have rather seen the legend in all metal, I think it would have clipped out less, and it makes me wonder if the other machines had the same problem, that notching caused it to clip out on the merc

For a beginner or part time hobbyist on a budget I always recommend the Nokta Simplex. Waterproof and a darn good machine.

My ace 250 wil do 9.5 inches if you set it up properly but my cheapest amazon special will also do it but you have to set it up properly.

Hello sir. I use the anfibio multi and I'm happy to see that it held up in this comparison. I have used many different machines for the past 45 years and, the multi is the best for depth. My $500 bulgarian metal detector is deeper then all your detectors.

Your never going to have consistant performance with a digital detector. They are all garbage. They only sample the wave form. You need an old analog for things like that. A Garrett Master hunter 7 will do it. A Whites 6000, a Tessoro Ed Dorado or a Gold Bug (original not Gold Bug 2). Now the Fisher Gold Strike will do it, but that is a thousand dollar detector! It will pick up a pin head size nugget under a hot rock!!!!!! It will ignore the iron, so something as big as a dime would hurt your ears LMAO!

I just came across my White Prizm 3 than try it out this year and found a couple coins 🪙 than one ring 💍. Still able to track 8inch deep with the 10 years Batteries 🔋🤣

I know this is a a older video, but I believe the Ace 400 would have nailed it. Had one for awhile, would go deeper than the At Pro. If garrett would have just added a few more features to the 400 it really would have been a better seller, cause at 10 khz it was and still is great on deeper coins,,and would still take it over simplex. The 400 is really underrated imo.
