great video
ОтветитьI'm only 33yrs old. I've had 40cms of Barrett's since I was 22yrs old due to a Sliding Hernia that kept allowing my stomach to slide into my throat literally right under my chest plate. This also caused my stomach to be the size of someone who was 9 months pregnant and everytime the top portion of my stomach would go into my Oesophagus it made the whole that is supposed to shut after food or liquids to pass through to stay open 24/7 and I was throwing about about 17x a day. I even had reflux surgery done but bc they wrap your stomach around your oesophagus this really doesn't allow you to burp and now im constantly bloated and eat once a day and that and that small food i eat takes forever to digest so I bloat all the time even if I just had some water. Its truly horrible how I feel and I'm booked for another surgery for it.
ОтветитьI've just been diagnosed with this - and oddly enough, I had no symptoms. Sometimes I did experience some discomfort after eating, but not heartburn - and I thought it was due to my unbalanced diet.
ОтветитьSadly, having scleroderma disease in the GI tract can predispose you to GERD and subsequent Barrett's.
The reason why Barrett's esophagus happens from scleroderma-induced GERD is the collagen excess. Normally, the epithelial tissue in the esophagus is squamous-shaped, which is normal, but when inflammation happens from GERD, get this inflammation in that epithelium for too long, and this squamous-shaped epithelium, through a metaplastic process, turns into a columnar-shaped one, and this is how Barrett's esophagus occurs.
The reason why Barrett's can lead to esophagus cancer at that point is probably the tendency for the columnar epithelia cells to cause the cells to really mess up in cellular division in the esophagus, making cell division so rampant, hypertrophic, and uncontrollable, leading to tumors and then carcinomas.
I didn't have Barrett's. I had reflux that I found when I was singing Christmas carols ... I could no longer hit the higher notes. If this is you, see an ENT.

ОтветитьSpicy food is not associated with Barrett's esophagus
ОтветитьThis won’t work for everyone but low stomach acid was the cause of my heart burn and reflux. I took hydrochloric acid with pepsin with meals containing protein and raw veggies. Started with about 7pills per meal and weaned down to nothing. Learned a lot about stomach acid and how dehydration plays a big role in depleting stomach acid. Your body can make a finite amount everyday so taking the pills allows ur body to catch up and you still eat normally. Many videos online that give advice on this, good luck.
