Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is well, if you are not well,. praying you get well soon.
I had been painting King fishers of the Philippines for a while , But I am not done painting all of them yet , I had painted 6 or 7 but I gave 2 away as a gift ... at first I thought we only have 7 Kingfishers but I read from an article of a certified site, that we actually have 19 different species of King fishers in the Philippines! Whew! it means I have to paint a lot more of this cuties! But you know what I am up to the challenge, who cares if I do it for the whole year :) I plan to cover our wallwith this cute King fishers ...I just so love how this tiny but very accurate in calculating their dives to fish! Plus their vibrant colors make them even more beautiful!.
My eyes just feast on how beautiful they are, God is wonderful and amazing creating them for us and enjoying them.

The South Philippine Dwarf Kingfisher (Ceyx mindanensis) was first described 130 years ago, during the Steere Expedition in the Philippines in 1890.
*They close their eyes as they dive into the water, so they are fishing blind! *They bob their heads before diving
to accurately judge the depth of the fish.
*Male and female birds of most kingfisher species look similar and it is hard to tell the difference between genders.
*These birds are superb fliers, and their flight path is generally straight and fast, with rapid wing beats (,reminds me of humming birds.)
And believe it or not some cultures worshipped this bird yes that is how incredible King fishers are... though
I don't think we should worship them :)
