Hi Jacky, thank you for this beautiful lesson! I am definitely putting many hours a day into practicing with metronome but I'm excited to try this approach and see the results it will bring. Probably my biggest issues had been my really bad brething pattern (I used to breath from my chest instead of my belly, so I had lots of tension in my shoulders and neck) and overall tension. I am working usper hard on that and I have start to improve at a rate that I thought would not be possible. Do you have any advice to keep tension under control ?
Wish you the really best !!!
Very good detailed lesson, I like how you are adding reasoning, and being realistic.
I been hitting plateau and never broke it, ill do what you said, and hope to break thru.
-Question how did you got to the point where you dont count 16ths notes and be able to pick 4 times per beat? I have to count it, and i noticed when it gets fast in the bpm u cant count 1 e and a fast enough.
-how about doing all three gallops on 16ths notes fast? How is it done? By feel? I am talking about the 1~and a, 2 e and~, and 3 e~a.
Can you make a video on tips to syncopated rhymths with a metronome?
Great explanation. Making your students realize exactly what it will feel like from beginner to pro is what makes a teacher great!
ОтветитьWhat’s the secret to a great tone? I have a boss ME-80 and still trying to find a good heavy tone. I need help
Ответитьbro thats the Most fucked sweep picking ive ever seen
ОтветитьTO Y'ALL OUT THERE SHREDDER WANNABEES: THIS IS THE BEST SHRED GUITAR BASIC TECHNIQUE IN THE UNIVERSE BY FAR!
ОтветитьI've been playing for years. And being honest with myself I'm not terrible, but I'm not where I want to be. My alternate picking. Ascending alternate picking in general needs some work. Is the metronome thing something that would help? I feel like I've learned a bunch of bad habits, because I was self taught.
Ответить78?????
really
what scale are you playing here, you mention b minor but i dont get what position that is.
Ответить78 X'D
ОтветитьMate, thank you for this! I've been spending some proper time with a metronome lately and have been getting a bit despondent when I reach those plateaus. I really appreciate the advice to work up in smaller increments and to resume with a run up the next day! Rippin' tricks man, thanks again!!
ОтветитьI think I've made more progress in the last month using this metronome method than in the whole year before that, thanks man.
ОтветитьThank you brother for this very insightful video.
8 beat , triplet , sixteen beat concept is very well covered .
🙏
After about 1 year of practicing using this metronome method, I noticed a huge improvement in the speed, rhythm and accuracy of my playing. The results are not immediately obvious on a daily basis, but it does take some time to notice improvement. This method combined with perseverance is the key. Thank you so much Jacky; you're awesome!
ОтветитьHelps 🤘🏼
ОтветитьWoooow jacky you are the best and my inspiration! 🤟🏽😎🎸
ОтветитьNot using a metronome is probably the dumbest thing you could do in learning guitar. You will literally improve at least three times as fast.
Ответитьhey jacky what are the EQ settings and effects for your tone? also thanks for uploading this edit what are the tabs for that bm arppegio practice?
ОтветитьI find it challenging playing a guitar scale at 60bpm using quarter notes is this normal due to how much time in-between clicks there is? Or should I bump the click up where I'm comfortable say 65-75BPM? Great video thsnks.
ОтветитьI learned that shape when I was 15 years old and now I’m 78 😂😂😂😂😂😂🙌🏻🖤 love you bro. I’m glad you are doing well 🖤🖤🖤
ОтветитьSuch a good video and absolutely spot on!!
ОтветитьHi from 🇬🇧 Jacky, so last week my daughter came in from a night out and said listen to this, it was the insane solo from The drug in me is you and I was blown away. I have only just picked my guitar up after a lengthy lay off so I’m very rusty and I thought “this could impress her if I could learn this” 😂 I’m 49. I hope there is hope for me to tie my fingers in knots and get is learned.
ОтветитьAbsolutely the best tutorial I've ever seen on the perspective of pure techniques with a metronome.
I got a few things... 🤣
The way you talk about your perspective of why you do it that way, is A class words of wisdom.
Your humor and humility is so cool, so at home with you getting a personal lesson.
But when you said "Breath" I was all yours, your students are very lucky to have your guidance. Thank you for sharing your view with the world.
🌞
This was amazingly helpful
Ответить78 ???? sayyyyy whaaaaat ?!?!?! lmao
ОтветитьDamn, he is underappreciated. I hope he starts to get more attention as a super shredder and not as the guy who used to be in FIR!
ОтветитьYou are a Straight Up Amazing Teacher and Guitarist !! I wish I had discovered You and your Channel years ago so I would be on the fast track now. But , better late than never. And btw , I'm Rik from New York. Nice to meet you and thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills. Stay safe , Dude. 🎸
ОтветитьOne thing Jacky! I never really ever used a metronome in regards to beats per minute 😕🥺😰🤦🏻♂️
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing your knowledge!! We all appreciate it!
ОтветитьBro only found you from the recommendation and I can tell by the way you explain things that you're a great teacher. Thank you for this video
ОтветитьI was practicing guitar for years then I started working and my passion and commitment to it dropped a little bit. But checking this out inspire me to buy a new guitar and get this working. I hope you doing fine theres being a while I hadn’t heard about you in a time, im a big fan of your work, though Ive been out of fb and ig for 3 months or so now. Anyway I really hope you are ok and happy love your music 🤘
ОтветитьAlexi is that you???
ОтветитьThis really helped me!
ОтветитьImagine being from a successful band and still being humble enough to want to teach others how to play.
ОтветитьYou tips are worth to be practiced on guitar. Thank you!!!
ОтветитьIm the 1000th liker! ❤
ОтветитьAll you musicians and music teacher from the world sound so arrogant and you sound so fake, as if you are always hiding what you've really done to learn your stuff
Ответитьuhhhhh how and were do i take lessons from jacky !!!!!!
ОтветитьOnce you made your point ,talk less...
ОтветитьOne of the biggest things I struggled with is timing.
And one of my personal methods that actually worked or at least helped me, is practicing my rhythm pyramid on practice pad with a metronome on. Therefore I’m working solely on subdivisions.
After that I found that practicing on guitar with a metronome is much easier, less overwhelming, and way more effective.
And to be honest like you said there is no shortcut, it’s all about hard work and repetition.
you're a cool guy. thank you for the tips :)
ОтветитьThis sounds super useful!
ОтветитьHi Jacky! Is this similar to the Spider Exercise? Seems close. Any opinions on those? Which frets do you suggest to use though for this metronome technique?
ОтветитьI struggled with sweeping for a while until I started using a metronome. I noticed that when using a metronome it kinda forces you to have better technique really with everything. I put in the 4-8 hour days for years before and after starting to use a metronome and also backing tracks and the time before was almost a waste in a sense because the 3 years prior I could have done in half the time.
ОтветитьNow 78 years old and erecting one technique for 10 hours lol, the funniest technique video on the tube
ОтветитьThanks Jacky! I'll give it a try. Was never into the sweep thing....I get frustrated.
