What I like about Airfix is their box artworks...they are super realistic and detailed...other brand I'll just dispose right away...
ОтветитьIt would be nice to see some of the 1/12 scale 'Historical Figures' re-released. Charles 1 and Oliver Cromwell released as a twin set, for example.
Ответитьwhy no trucks?
ОтветитьThe vintage classic kits are extra special - from way, way back in the day when Roy Cross's superb box art successfully extracted many a week's worth of allowances. More than any other brand, Airfix will hold a special place in my heart.
ОтветитьI can’t believe that you don’t have the normal markings for 208 Sqn 227 OCU Aircraft, that would’ve been a excellent and covered both of the final majority of years of the buccaneer
ОтветитьSure there are a couple of new things, but, it’s mostly just rehashes of kits readily available.
ОтветитьJust bought the Spitfire stater set and while the model is great all four of the paints are dried solid and unusable. Seen a lot of Utube videos where people have had the same problem.
ОтветитьLove the diorama kits u guys should make more of those
Ответитьafter the gov, handed over raf quedgley gloucester, to wimpy for development, they found a vampire in one of the old hangers, rather than give it to a museum, minus its engines. they put a jcb through its wings and dragged it out. i was in ash church camp working at the time.
ОтветитьGood afternoon,
My name is Alex Lupsor and I have a request of airfix. Would you please create a modern model of “Canadian Avro Arrow jet fighter. This beauty was to replace the Cf 100 with an fly-by-wire twin engine all weather fighter. RR was to engine the fighter with its latest engine but the engine failed and was cancelled. They then looked to Oreinda, who was creating a new engine called the Iroquois. All this is recorded in history and one Iroquois engine was shipped to England with hopes that they would engine their new TSR2 aircraft, but this program was also cancelled by your government. However, this engine was saved from the torch. The French was very interested in the engine and would have used it in their mirage 3 which also was a successful delta winged fighter. This engine, which England had saved, was recently traded back to Canada for parts and frame of the Blenheim mk 4 is being restored. Back to the cf Arrow. They had completed five fighters which was flown by famous test pilots who had, (I believe), CF102 flying at level flight speed of Mach 1.7 without after burners, which in 1959 was a great achievement . The first five aircraft finished from on the assembly line, without proto-types, was engined with PW J75 and the rest of the ship sets starting with ship set # CF106 was to be engined with the Iroquois to replace the engines from England. At this time, the CF106 was about a week from its taxing trials. Canada then replaced the entire airforce with the “inferior” Douglas Voodoo F101 to replace the arrow program along with a the Bomark missile system for the NORAD défense of our northern border, also was a failure. The mystery as to why,????, eventually went to the grave by way of “Cutting Torches”, along with the the entire assembly lines of 30 ships in various states of completion. I will most gladly give you an up-to-date report. I ask on behalf of the thousands of Avro Arrow enthusiasts, take up this challenge as there is no up to date offerings, in fact the last offerings were printed in 1/72 & 1/48 scale by HobbyCraft Canada and this offering was from the Vac-U-Form kit transferred to plastic by a company in Korea. I await your response and I do know a project of this size will require 1-3 years. I do know what I’m asking. For all the modelling people who would also wish to see this happen, send Airfix a request. There is much information saved for “BLACK FRIDAY”.
Forever in His service
How about a model of the F89 Scorpion fighter.
And of the f101. F102. F100. F104 fighters.
Fantastic models here, but I would love some warships and ocean liners at some point 👍🏻
ОтветитьThe Sunderland and Catalina were or are really beautiful kits.
One Xmas in the 60's i got both of those off my uncles, a Lancaster of my granny and a Halifax off my mum and dad.
Kept me busy for a while.
I used to love the smell of the tins of humbrol paint.
Pure nostalgia ❤
3...yes 3 non military aircraft kits?????
Terrible
Thank God the Me 262 is back, most beautiful aircraft ever designed. So ahead of its time in so many ways
ОтветитьThe new British infantry was ace. I hope you do some new Russian, Japanese and a few other updates.
Ответитьany chance on a mig 23 / mig 27 set?
Ответитьbond bug finally i have chased this kit for years...
ОтветитьGreat models Airfix, but please please do a model of the new british aircraft carriers and any other british warships too, I'm a big fan of building any ships, just got RMS Mauretania 1.600 scale, which was built in 1906 just a few miles away from where I live and the same dock my Dad used to work in as a welder👍🏻
ОтветитьInteresting stuff. One correction though. The UN ferret didn’t belong to 5 Para..they were disbanded in 1947. UN peace keeping didn’t begin in Cyprus until after the 1974 Turkish invasion. The vehicle would have been operated by a Cavalry Regiment.
ОтветитьWhen are you going to re-release the BSA C15 and the Ariel Golden Arrow?
ОтветитьA lot of these kits Ive build as a kid. nice to see them rereleased.
Ответить👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьI built a lot of these kits in the '60's and early '70's, the detail on them from 50 years ago must be way by past it's sell by date these days. I know people have fond memories of these kits but isn't it about time new mouldings were introduced for these "classics"
ОтветитьWould love to see 1/48 Boston as an important part of RAF WW2 aircraft. No other manufacturer seems to be offering this kit.
ОтветитьAny CLASSIC AIRLINES??
ОтветитьI still have the Old Classic 727 from AIRFIX...Iberia or Lufthansa version...A Nice build it is.
ОтветитьGreat New Aditions 👌 Why are the German Aircraft Not displaying swastika symbols ?
ОтветитьSorry to say this but airfix are a shadow of the company they used to be as far as 1/72 :aircraft are concerned...and YES before anyone says it i am NOT having a go at the quality of their current toolings and enginnering but rather the diversity of subjects....remember when they used to do the Jaguar,Tornado,Viggen,Draken,Mirage F-1,Mirage 111,Mig-21,Mig-23,Mig-29,F-14,F-15,F-16,F-18,Alpha jet,F-5 ,F-111 and as far as helicopters are concerned remember the Lynx (both Army and Navy),Wasp,Scout,Gazelle ,Chinook,Wessex, Puma.....and those are just what springs to mind.....maybe its their hornby overlords and masters who have their hands tied but they seem to be stuck in a time loop where they are only intrested in ww2 subjects and early jets with just a token effort for modern jets and a fear of helicopters.
ОтветитьFantasci!!!!
ОтветитьHo comprato pochi giorni fa il Brewster Buffalo, Stupendo!!!
Ответитьgo airfix
ОтветитьI've recently discovered this brand as I've been building kits made by Revell & Monogram since I was a teen. Haven't built an Airfix kit yet, but am looking for opinions on how the molds and parts fit together compared to some of the kits I've built from Monogram which required extensive sanding and reshaping to fit together due to poor molds.
ОтветитьNot enough AFVs!!
ОтветитьHate to be that guy but, Where on Earth are the N. A. S. A. Related builds? The Mars Rovers have been Roving for Decades?
ОтветитьI thought I glimpsed the "US Marines" figure set in there, but they weren't mentioned in the dialogue? (Not that there's much in it appearance-wise, but a companion set of US Infantry, the regular GI's, in 1:72 would be good: they're the biggest single omission in Airfix WW2 figures).
ОтветитьAirfix here's a hint for you.............re-release the 1/48 TSR-2!!!!
ОтветитьWhat I love about Airfix is that all the models are based on real life things, such as their WWI & WWII tanks, soldiers, planes and ships. I recently went to Newcastle and got some Africa Korps and some first world war fighter planes. People these days, it's all sci fi and fantasy. I prefer my army soldiers and war models. Someone told me years ago that Airfix went bust!! I believed them, but they didn't! I also collect army and police figurines. Airfix is tones of fun and you get a lovely end product. I also like doing those Maplins electrical sets, where you solder together your own radio or Christmas decoration and stuff! I have all sorts of army toys and models, hours of fun if you ask me!
ОтветитьIn the 80s I made hundreds of airfix aircraft and hung them from my ceiling and on shelfs and stuff, loved them, one night very late my brother came home slightly inebriated and decided to reenact the battle of Britain, I didn't speak to him for a long time.
ОтветитьAny anti drone kits in the pipeline?
ОтветитьI just wish they'd start doing figures again.
ОтветитьGod, these bring back memories
ОтветитьWell done...got me interested and back to making 1/72 models during lockdown.Everyone has their particular interest and mine is Luftwaffe. The remodelled ME109 and FW 190 were pleasing(Any chance of a FW 190 A3...they arent easy to find!!)
ОтветитьAirfix are upping the game for sure and about time. Excellent
ОтветитьAre many of these vintage classic kits new moulds? Some of the old kits I’ve worked with were absolutely dire to work with.
ОтветитьGood onya Airfix! Loved your model planes when I was a kid. I am 70 now. Airfix, you brought me many years of enjoyment throughout my childhood!
ОтветитьYou should release all your kits again not just your kits but all your troopers again
Ответить
