Definitely a good movie, deep, but the synopsis above is odd. "...a circuit judge is given 12 hours to live after he attempts to bring justice to a lawless town." There's nothing in it about "12 hours to live."
This copy is out of focus but worth watching. 150 years after the imagined story, in the age of the corrupt, lying president Trump, the principle of equal law and justice for all is still absolutely relevant. If Trump does time for incitement to murder and rebellion, that'll show it's still alive. If not, it'll show how far American democracy has fallen.

👎👎 the whole point of the movie was to see Tom pay for his crime. The movie has left me wishing I had not even watched. If you like a movie that has no ending then this is the movie for you.

John McIntire is a likable villain, with forceful candidness. I can see why he was selected to replace the deceased Ward Bond, in Wagon Train. Both Nancy Gates and Miroslava Stern are sweet and lovable. John Carradine played his part well, but I like him better with his stellar performance as the minister in the Grapes of Wrath movie.

I very much enjoyed "Stranger on Horseback" (1955); by the way, I was born in the year that the movie was made. I still have some treasured memories about life in the 50's, a wonderful time in America.

Oops this flm is 1955. They must have gotten imported after world War 2.

Bannerman must be rich. His ranch has a Brazilian Pepper tree and and African cactus looking Euphorbia way back then. They didn't even get imported until the 1960s so he must also be a time traveler.
