Hi, thanks for the great video! I have a question. I’m about the publish on IngramSpark - am I able to sell my book on my own website? And if so, how do I get it shipped? I can’t find this answer anywhere

Hi! How can I use IS if I have an ASIN for a low content book? I published a My Visitors guest book for the elderly in nursing homes, but because it's considered low content, I was assigned an ASIN. How can I get my book out there to places like Walmart and Target? Will IS help me too? Thanks.

Okay. What is the $49 membership fee for? Is that per book? I have published a book through amazon KDP and have noticed that there are not enough landscape options with that platform and ingramspark has the option I want but I would want to sell it online as well as Amazon. Also how do royalties work and do we pay a print price when buying to sell Inperson? I am trying to figure out the options for my future books as I write and illustrate primarily children’s😊 books

2 Questions: 1. Roughly, how much can you earn monthly after you publish your novel through Ingramspark and they put your book into stores?

2. Can you still sign up with other publishers too whilst your with Ingramspark?

This may have been asked, so sorry if I missed it. The last time I published a book through IngramSpark (2016), I had to open up my account with IS AND a seller account with Amazon. I called and spoke with someone at IS who says I no longer need to do that and that I just have one account with IS and IS will push to Amazon and other retailers.

Can you please confirm this? Thank you.

Hi MK,

I've been enjoying your videos and insights about self publishing, thank you!

We are in the process of adding a new children's book to the IngramSpark POD channels, and a few months ago added the book to Amazon as an FBA — i.e. we printed our own books which Amazon fulfills for us.

After watching videos, I understand that adding our book to IngramSpark shouldn't pose a conflict with the fact that our book is already listed on Amazon for FBA — however, I heard somewhere this is some kind of setting at the Amazon side we need to adjust for everything to work smoothly. If you have any awareness about this, or are familiar with anyone who does, I'd love to hear. Thanks again MK!!

Hello! I've been watching several of your videos along my journey and have found your video quite helpful. I just approved my first book and extremely excited about it! I'm curious as I have read other comments about getting connected with distributors like amazon, target Barnes& Noble etc. around the links you referred to or how to know when I can make my titles available for presale on those sites. I understand it may take a few weeks but does that mean I search on those sites for a link to my website or am I able to enable distribution/presale on ingram side of things. Hope that made sense.

Hello, I am new to self publishing as well and I had a quick question. When posting the cover( if I want to publish on both Ingram and Amazon) does the ISBN and barcode have to be already added to the cover or is that a separate thing that the companies add after sending them the info?

Just curious. Have you found a lack of consistency with IS's full bleed cut lines? I just ordered 8 of series I produced and illustrated and 2 had white edges on the right side throughout the pages. I rechecked the proofs and nope, there were no white edges. thanks for any thoughts. love your channel.

Hi M.K., I was wondering about having a book listed on both KDP and Ingram Spark. What if I publish a hard cover children's book on Ingram Spark and then also upload it to KDP; will that work? Because I think Ingram Spark doesn't have a page limit for hard covers, but it seems KDP's current hard cover limit is 72 pages, so I wouldn't be able to publish a 32 page hardcover children's book for KDP. So then it won't be able to be listed on both?

Thanks for the video! I have a paperback on KDP and a hardcover version on IngramSpark, however I'm confused by how it works. If an individual customer purchases the hardcover through the Amazon listing, does IngramSpark then print the book on demand and ship directly? Or does Amazon have to purchase copies as inventory first?

Hi MK! Your video was very helpful and I have read some of the comments and responses below which were also helpful. I just want to confirm a couple of things. I used IS and KDP for my hard cover. I used IS so that I could get a dust jacket version since KDP uses case laminate. Currently I have the KDP version of the hard cover on Amazon, do I need to remove the hard cover from KDP in order for IS to distribute the dust jacket version to KDP and if so is that automatic? Thanks so much in advance.

Hello, I'm a self-published author. If someone asks " they want to buy copies of my books and put them in their company" how or what direction should I tell them to take to obtain copies of my books. Would I ask them to send me money for copies of books needed so I can purchase and mail to them or direct them to Ingram Sparks or Ingram. Is Sparks only for self published authors? Not sure how to proceed? Also, I want to be sure I get the royalities from Ingram Sparks. So, would I need to set up my own account with Ingram sparks separate from my publisher?

My paper back is currently available on prime.. so my question is, will the hardcover also be sent that quickly to buyers if they have prime? Also, I heard you say you don’t want to pay Ingram and Amazon a fee. Does this mean when you use Ingram to push a book to Amazon you get even less royalties? I’m sorry if I’m just over thinking it. If people click the order button on my website, where does that take them? Since I have uploaded my book on IngramSpark, how will the orders made on my website give people access to my book to purchase on IngramSpark? Is there a need for an API/Hyperlink to link the two, and if so where can one access the IngramSpark API?

Hi MK,
I watched 3 of your videos and need some clarification.
1) I plan to use KDP for my ebook. I understand if I print my paperback and hard cover with IngramSpark (IS) they will make it available to Amazon. Is this the most profitable model for an author? If not, what is the most profitable model? How long does it take Amazon to list the book once it is available to Amazon?
2) I understand IS's cost model for a paper book and I understand Amazon offers a 70% royalty for each ebook sale. If Amazon orders my paper books from IS, how do I compute my net for each book sold on Amazon? Does IS charge me for the production and Amazon receives the book at no cost to them? Or does Amazon pay IS for the production, and then deduct it from my net proceeds?
3) I read somewhere Amazon offers a 60% royalty for each paper book sold. For example, if Amazon sells it for $10, do I net $6 or is it less $6 less the cost of the IS book and shipping fees?
4) Who pays shipping on IS paper books ordered by book distributors, retail stores, and Amazon? Is it me, or is it the entity ordering the book?
5) Do you provide a consulting service?

I have self-published on IS weeks ago. How does my book get sold thru Walmart, Target, Barns & Nobel, etc. via IS? I have searched their websites and my book does not appear anywhere. Do they have to ask IS to list my book? Or, should it automatically be available for purchase on the big chain store's website?

Just uploaded my first book to Ingram Sparks. Now what do I do? I already published on KDP and sold a few books. As you mentioned the two companies are very different. Is it hands off from here, or do I have a role in book sales. I noticed the video is 3 yrs old and some of the information has changed. Is it possible to update the new Ingram Sparks changes.
Is it worth the advertising fee they suggest?
What is considered needed extra cost versus unnecessary cost to promote book sales?
Thank you. Trying to tackle the world of self publishing with different companies.

you mentioned avoiding dual fees, and that is what i have a question about. If I go through IS and they get my book on a platform, I assume now that platform needs their cut as well as IS. Now say it is a $10 paperback. After IS gets their cut, the platform gets their cut and I cover print costs and shipping, how much profit is actually left?
