Whats amazing about this is elky actually did read him. Tan bet pre flop (basically telling everybody he's got a good hand). Elky then checks, instead of raising with top pair in order to see what Tan does. Tan then makes a large bet post flop. Elky lays it down with top pair

He maybe laid it down nonchalantly but he still looked in pain afterwards hehe :)

I guess he estimates his opponents calling range pre as something like 66-JJ, ATs+., AJ+, KQ+, and expects his opponent to always check back a pair worse than QJ as well as all Ace high hands (based on tendencies we cannot see in this video), therefore he is always behind his opponents betting range? (i wish I could think like this, when I play, so clearly and rationally.)

i dream one day of being able to make this fold. Usually when I know  I am beat, if I have top pair, I do not fold, at least on the flop. Maybe I can fold on the turn, but not on the flop. I guess Elky's opponent was an extremely tight player, which this video does not show (previous hands etc.), otherwise how can he check/fold this flop?

Fold Equity I mean. The deal is to 3bet pref-lop and polarize his range. He flatted, so considering his table image he can easily polarize his hand. He also sees his facial expression which add's up a lot. Flatting as you mention there gives you 0 information about his hand. You flat, hit, checkraise and either lose much more chips or go broke if you are up against someone agressive. Elkys op. is pretty passive, so by showing strength he indicates that elky is beat. Easy game. l2p.

hey ass holes: you are the ones commenting a poker video of a professional (who make several hundreds of thousands a year from poker) and telling them how they are doing their job badly, when really it's you that sucks. Im not saying Im amazing at poker, but Im not about to make myself look like a damned fool and tell Elky how his great laydown was shit and how Im better than him.

You must be a real chip donator if you think is a standard fold.

How is that a great "read", he didn't say anything and just check-folded like anyone would. Even the commentated said, QJ is hard to play. And, Elk was out of position. He just laid it down like he should. It's so obvious that the other guy had him beat pre-flop and the flop by the betting size.

Elky thought the other guy slowplays AA or KK. He misread the hand but he was lucky that the guy had aq. If the chinese dude played the same way with 10s Elky would be look like a complete idiot to fold that hand after the preflop action.

If he knew Tan had AQ and his hand dominated why didn't he just fold pre?

That's awesome. I was going to dismiss this list of 22 hands because I was sure this hand wouldn't be in it. But it's in it. So I guess the list is legit.

My guess would be that his opponent was folding to 3bets, and elky thought he was setting a trap, i bet he didnt put him on AQ, but on a KK or AA slowplay.

If your going to c/f after hitting TP in 3bet pot dont u think its better to 3bet A6o instead of QJs? I know that he`s a great player and made a good decision in this flop spot, but i really dont understand how could this line with such a nice hand as QJs be more +EV than just flatting it.

he is 3betting blockers hoping guy fucking folds or he gets to showdown for free or it would go check check and so he can value bet

So he is 3 betting in hope of hitting trips? In what way is that a good strategy?

He raised QJ preflop; then folds it on the flop when he hits top pair decent kicker. That preflop raise is essentially wasted if he folds a bet on the flop when he hits his top pair (with a decent kicker), is he only going to not fold if he hits trips or something?

Preflop? Elky would never fold QJs. Never call oop either. Any other options?

You are right, this really isn't a good play. Throwing away chips preflop.

@Hovishill , If you're going to just check fold QJ in a 3bet pot on a Q high board I don't think he should be 3betting it in the first place. Is he only comfortable getting chips in if he flops trips or two pair? Unless he has some sick live read (overrated in general) guy could easily have AJ or 99
