Played the shit out of this game as a kid. Nothing ever went as hard as this.
Also, the endings? The game had like 250 combinations for going through all the levels and had like 10 endings, from Shadow believing himself a replica android of himself to murdering Sonic and the leader of a paramilatry group and helping the aliens destroy the earth, or killing the alien daddy by going Super Saiyan. Some missions have you infiltrate your SSD to retrieve your missing search history while others have you ACTIVATING NUKES ALL AROUND NEW YORK. This game is fucking insane and I love it for it.

Really... I mean, I tuned out of the Sonic lore when they introduced Shadow. I did not know his story was borderline, extreme fascist propaganda.
