If socialism works, why did the Soviet Union fall? Why is Venezuela a shithole overnight? Why is North Korea a shithole compared to South Korea? Why is Cuba a shithole? Why is China and Vietnam somewhat successful? Because it's communist leadership leading a hybrid capitalist system. Capitalism sucks but, it's all we got. Maybe it's capitalism with social safety nets that is the only solution. But pure socialism blows serious chucks up a bull's asshole. There is no incentive, no innovation, no real competition to bring prices down. Anything that you have, this computer I paid $300 dollars for does EVERYTHING. A few years I would have paid $1000 dollars for similar capabilities. I have loaded MS Office, everything works just fine. How did it happen? Because of competition, innovation and continuous improvement. Why is it I can buy a fabulous flat screen TV for $350 dollars? For the same reason, It is because of the innovation and systems of mass production that brought the prices where they are. Why do think the US fought a Cold War against the Communist system for 50 years at such expense? It is because of the fear that their stupid system would be forced upon the great USA militarily. And why did the Soviet Union fall? Because their military couldn't keep up with the technology of the USA. And where did all that technology and innovation come from? From the same system such as capitalism that produces it. Why do all these people wanna cross the southern border into the USA? For the hope that the USA will offer them a better life. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy listening to these two socialists, and they have an interesting analysis, but when they are suggesting replacing capitalism with socialism I feel compelled to respond.

$15 minimum wage is good and it’s passed on to consumers as inflation, but it won’t solve the problem.
The main issue is the cost of housing, groceries & expenses, & monthly savings in ratio to individual income based on minimum wage.
Rent or house payment for a an apartment should be 1/3 of one’s income on minimum wage.
Our government has deliberately passed policies to make it impossible for majority of people to be able to pay rent on one income let alone buy a house. Hardly possible to afford rent with even 2 full time minimum wage incomes. Our congress is for the most part corrupt and disloyal to country and constituents.
We need a massive top down governmental policy change.

A major factor on Trump winning was simply the Dems – they over-egged the pudding. Their relentless negative propaganda made them come across as the party of hate and dissension and weird hysteria – plus their misguided policies. – Who could vote for such a group of poisonous types? And it continues…

Inflation and corporate greed are both problems.

Dems lost due to extreme left issues that most Americans don't relate to or care for. Plus the genocide was a huge issue for me and my family and friends.

The only reason the Dems did anything for people in the wake of the Great Depression, "saving capitalism" via the New Deal, was because of the threat of socialist adoption and revolt. Dems today are too blind to see that allowing Bernie Sanders to run and win would have been steps toward saving capitalism once again, but the threat of socialism is nowhere near as potent now, so we're now in a similar position as the Great Depression, but without the possibility of a new New Deal to at least smooth the rough spots.

If the Democrats don't follow Bernie Sanders and start taking on the financial industry and making laws that put capital to work for the majority, the picture won't change. They have to make the same decision they did in the early 1930s because people are exhausted. Nobody cares about identity politics. Multimillionaires are middle class now. Wealth is in the hands of a tiny minority and people are tired. The only things Bernie needs to change are 1) stop using the term "working class" -- it's a fine thing but it belongs to the past. It doesn't reach people in offices who have a degree but can't pay their bills. Wage and salary earners are all in the same boat -- that's why DJT won. 2) We don't want a "single payer" system. We want a single guarantor, like they have in France (consistently rated the best system in the world). It works like our Medicare does. Private insurance is a partner and provides affordable products most people can afford -- they don't drive the system like they do here. Single payer systems like the UK and Canada become political footballs with too many other issues -- especially the NHS -- they are now under continuous threat from the US health industrial complex. Of course the Democrats blew it -- because they won't take on entrenched financial interests. They'll talk about literally anything else. Janet Yellin is a Keynesian. They got a lot done but they needed another 10 years to show it and add to it after 50+ years of wealth transfer from the majority up.

There is a wide array of reasons the DNC lost the support of its long time coalitions within the supposed big tent of the DNC. The issue is that the many smaller tents under the umbrella of the DNC. AGAIN Trump did not gain significantly more votes - the DNC LOST votes and voters in the many ‘tents’.

They flicked a finger at the pro-Palestine and human rights camps during a genocide that they paid lip service to - and funded. And at the same time in an adjacent tent told the foreign agents of AIPAC that they could have all the money and weapons they wanted to continue slaughtering Palestinians.

Right next to the anti-gun tent and school shooter victims tent - bragged about their gun ownership and and that they want the status quo…. (This is a theme)

Right next the sonically transparent tent of those who want to strengthen social security, Medicare and Medicaid for all - called them “entitlement programs” adopting republican language and talking points - status quo….

Progressives in the party who have been fighting for change for years and did not want the status quo - heard over and over again “there will be no fundamental change” (in quotes for a reason) - because that is what so many in the Democratic Party were democrats for - FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE.

The Democratic-party in 2016 told rural areas and suburban areas that they would no longer represent them. They spelled it out in words - deeds - and literally closed offices in those areas. Relying solely on the intersectional diverse urban vote…. Bragging they had that in the bag… And they lost rural and suburban voters to Trump in 2016. Forever - because they had no interest in repairing that damage. They squeezed by in 2020, and over the course of the years following- offended urban and all the camps of the big umbrella of groups in each tent. In the sonic transparency of the fabric of those tents got on a megaphone announced that they have been lying to them for decades. That the DNC never had any interest in their issues at all - ever.
