The scores stay around too long and make it largely unusable. If your circumstances has changed drastically, the score won’t update thus hindering you. It’s best to just pay cash for everything and you can live more comfortably than relying on credit approvals.

Why are we thinking about changing rules now? This has been the rules since I was 18 20 years later we want to raise interest rates even more when interest rates are already sky high. I earned my credit score this seems like you want to penalize people like me by making us pay higher interest rates to offset people with less credit scores. If they are a riskier they should pay for that risk.

Things are a bit strange right now. Inflation is making the US dollar weaker for buying things, but it's getting stronger against other stuff. So, stuff like stocks, houses, crypto, and precious metals aren't doing so great because folks are putting their money into dollars for safety. I'm worried about my $320,000 savings losing value fast. Where should I put my money to keep it safe?

Thanks for recommending the pay for delete. Our integrity, to either settle the debt for a lesser amount or pay it in full, is just as important as our credit score. When the debt was originally incurred, we had already promised to pay the amount that was owed. Then somewhere along the way, we didn't hold up our end of the agreement. And the verry banking credit systems creates cycles of boom and bust and when we have bust if someone has no income and there is no demand for labor the credit score is useless !

If you don't have enough cash in hand for something, you cant afford it. We Americans aren't taught ownership in school. We are encouraged to borrow , go to college, borrow, work, borrow, work and if your lucky maybe retire with whatever money and good health you have left.

The problem I have is they're taking the responsibility out of the consumer. They talk about racism and it's correlation to credit. Maybe us minorities have worse credit because we manage our money worse. Is it really racism? Maybe us minorities need better financial advise from our parents. Credit reports dont discriminate, they collect data and share it w/ the public.

No system created by mankind is perfect. The credit system is certainly no exception. However, the financial industry has discovered that there is a very high correlation between your credit score and the likelihood you’re going to repay a loan on time. Credit scores don’t see race, religion, gender or sexual orientation. It is a blind arbiter. It is a fact the Asians are more likely to pay their loans on time then black Americans. The facts bear that out. You can argue all day long about why that is, but at the end of the day, the fact remains that some people are more likely to pay back loans than others.
