Ultralight, highly processed chemical junkfood for emergencies only unless you like cancer
ОтветитьMountain house is king
ОтветитьThey compared different meals. Compare the same type of food across brands next time. Then also compare the chef's version of the same dish after it has been freeze died and rehydrated
Ответитьtry them when ww3 hits
ОтветитьAs a chef myself I would never prepare it this way at all I would give it a tiny rice cooker to rehydrate 100% ❤ and even then if you had extra stuff around you can add to the flavor, hints the whole kitchen in the background ❤
ОтветитьI was wondering why they sale for 1$ in some states
Ответитьlol, saw myself having food / dkept sayn ..having fun, french chef, its survival fooooodddddd!good stufff fun, its survival fooddd, lol overall, my take french chef its survival food:)
ОтветитьWhy is everyone so offended?
ОтветитьWe get it. Some of you hike. No one is impressed. You all completely understand the idea behind the video and the general comedic angle that was taken in making it. Just stop.
ОтветитьAfter 10 meals in a row, all of these get old
ОтветитьTypical food snob
Ответитьalways let them rehydrate for a lot longer than they say and use piping hot water. i sometimes leave it for 30+ minutes and just sit and glass or do something else. Do not let the heat escape thats how i get the beef and chicken bits to soften up.
ОтветитьRehydrate an Egyptian mummy.....and eat it.
Ответитьyou have got to have that water at a rolling boil and In my experience use a bit less water and leave it sit a bit longer than the directions recommend.
ОтветитьHe was so polite even though he probably wanted to rip it apart haha
ОтветитьI’m sure he is a superb chef, hence his attitude.
ОтветитьMy conclusion is the chef is a snob. Of course he is a chef after all.
ОтветитьEvidently the chef has never been in the military or camped alone for a week or two. He apparently does not get the rational of survival food. It actually is excellent, especially Mountain House food.
ОтветитьChef, it is survival food. If you are in emergency situation and haven’t eaten for 3 days you would love it. It will be tasty and save your life.
ОтветитьBro why is he comparing this food to his $200 meals. This is for the zombie apocalypse
Ответитьyou know the funny thing with rations? they taste horrid at home but when your out in the field they taste great...kinda weird
ОтветитьIf you're starving, it will all taste good.
ОтветитьWhat did you expect?
You just compared a $500.00 call girl to a $20.00 hooker.
Tabasco. Everything always tastes better with Tabasco sauce. Lol
ОтветитьIf you were held in a foreign prison these meals would get a Michelin Star rating.
ОтветитьAh.....an elitist with no concept of reality.
ОтветитьMountin House meals are pretty good but I've never had this meal. Wait till the lights go out and Whole Foods is empty, this fancy lad will do anything for one of these meals.
ОтветитьFancy lad
ОтветитьGreat review recommend getting a dehydrator and prepping your own meals for all who's interested in packing for extensive hikes. Tastes amazing without all the preservatives
ОтветитьI don't get the point of this video.
This is the wrong person to test dehydrated food. He woud probably say the same negatives about canned foods.
An appropriate tester would be someone that needs to use dehydrated meals.
Pro tip - those eggs need double the hydration time and a bit more water than the instructions suggest - only then are they edible.
ОтветитьWhy don't you get this chef to make something that will remain shelf stable, portable and edible for the duration of a week long or more hiking trip that will be up to his taste standards, and also fit the caloric and macronutrient requirements for someone who's been hiking more long distances while carrying loads each day?
ОтветитьTo quote Miguel de Cervantes: "Hunger makes the best sauce in the world."
Hike / Backpack 6 - 14+ hours a day, for days or weeks on end, carrying 30 - 60+ pounds on rocky dirt trails, over hills and mountains, AND THEN try these meals again.
Bwahaha
ОтветитьWhen it comes to freeze dried foods being too salty, they are designed to feed people who are up in higher elevations hiking in the mountains. Everyone knows that you need more rehydration time and more salt as you go up in elevation. This is why airline food would taste even more disgusting if you ate it while In the airport instead of up in the air. Our taste buds are not the same the higher we go up in elevation. Also the extra salt will help replenish some of the salt that was lost through physical activity during the hike.
ОтветитьI hate 90% of dehydrated food. Impossible to eat
ОтветитьJust finished backpacking for the first time. I swear this is the only honest video . Man me and my grown son were dying. These meals tasted like trash and I brought hot sauce and salt. Next time I’m living on oatmeal packets, tuna fish and protein bars
ОтветитьHahah trust it tastes much better in the bush when you have been out for 30+ day canoe trip 😅
ОтветитьLAME! Read the commits below this video, and I'm willing to bet my life that 95 percent of the commits are from those who couldn't find yourselves around a kitchen if your lives depended on it. This is coming from someone who actually cooks my meals and from my experience as a chef. This guy Is hitting the mark on most of these pre packed food meals. The folks making these meals are only giving you calories to burn not real "FOOD" all the while laughing all the way to the bank at you all. Take the time to invest in prepping your meals yourself its not rocket science kiddos, show yourself some love. Those who are pro pre packed meals could do land slides better and just grab a fistful of earth at the top of your mountain peak, hill, or the middle of nowhere and mix a little hot water. Bon Appetit!
ОтветитьMake him eat last after a major incident. This is not a 5 Star restaurant.
ОтветитьI would be curious how he would feel about these after hiking to the top of a mountain or something or the sort. Literally just curious how physical experience and exhaustion impacts the willingness and the experience.
Don’t know. Just curious.
Funny he's a pro chef in a giant kitchen...he could pour out each of these into a pan & make them super tasty in a few seconds with some little tricks
Ответить“It’s an interesting day today” 😂
ОтветитьFettuccine are not NOODLES
ОтветитьHave this dude eat those same meals after a hard day of hiking, and they will suddenly taste amazing.
ОтветитьIf I ever went camping I think I’d rather buy a military MRE than buying one of these lol
ОтветитьI have a food allergy, easy to pack, carry, edible, will not put me in hospital, do not have to deal with ignorant waitstaff, can take on a plane...with overnight layovers and cancellations this may be a good back up food for travelling.
ОтветитьMore videos like this for sure
ОтветитьRations are for people on the brink of starvation. What a stupid video.
