Honestly, this is where electric will shine. One bike that you can change the power delivery and customize to any rider. I hate electric. They make a stupid sound. I love 2 strokes. But fully tunable power delivery? Might have to get used to it.

I want motorcross type power !! Let me use my wrist and riding ability to control the bike. I had a WR-450, it was horrible if your used to MX bikes, what a dog it was!!!

To bad for those who want the power of an XC but get hobbled in the electrical department with a low wattage stator for running fan and lighting. I went from an XCW to a TX and so I am back at tailoring the new bike to how I ride and what I want it to do single track wise, the usual process which takes a year or so for the after market to catch up with the short comings of the new bikes.

It’s an enduro bike for gods sake. It’s should be smooth, click bait title. Buy a fricken Mx bike, is the seat too uncomfortable on a trials bike?

I just bought one of these two months ago and I can honestly tell you that I am so sorry I did not by the new Beta 300 RR . This bike is weaker than any of my previous bikes. I’m selling mine. That’s it . I need that snap and this bike just don’t have it.

Awesome
Review!

So is this bike where there’s calmer power, but holds the power very well at RPM? Could be the reason for stiffer suspension being able to handle harder hits at faster speeds?

Good, rode my friends 22 xc today for hard enduro and it was a pain in the ass. Too snappy for that type of riding. I heard that the power is there, but its in the top end.

I am glad that they are mellowing out the engine to make it linear and with lots of low end. Good job KTM, that’s what an enduro bike should have! Small throttle position changes should result in incremental increases in engine ramping up.

As far as chassis and suspension being more for high speed stuff. That doesn’t align with making the bike an enduro machine for hard obstacles… I think that is because enduro riders still enjoy flying through some single track and hitting things at speed in between the obstacles

To me the xc-w should be set up for hard obstacles and still be usable for single track. I think this configuration is the best at that of any bike I’ve ever seen. Sounds like it’s linear and predictable with excellent use of mid stroke! That’s where we want it!

I want this bike bad

Just wait for an configurable ecu, create your own map if you want it different. The smoother engine by the way is probably more caused by the ecu controlled power valve than the switch from tpi to tbi.

No map changing options, that’s the only thing to complain about on these awesome bikes.

And a bit stiffer suspension is lovely, always hated the soft enduro stuff, especially the forks. The smooth engine will probably make you faster if you start riding smoother and stop complaining, so you’ll end up loving the suspension change 😊

I own a 22' carb bike (Rieju 300 MR pro) and love it (even if I have spent a ton of hours tuning the carb to be acceptable).
But to be honest what I'm looking for on a KTM now is a soft power delivery because riding in mud ou extrem conditions most of the time. I'm ok with a soft power because if you trust what Bolt is saying "suspensions soft, mousses soft, engine soft" everything soft. If you ride hours a day you need soft things to manage the bike. I don't want to undergo my enduro bike when I ride it. So for me it's a good thing. And as you said there are many solutions to tune it harder for those who want it. 😊

The old switch you could put on the older TPI 's was not a MAP switch but was a timing switch (2 position).
Since it is an electronic controlled power valve you can no longer adjust it.
I like being able to adjust the PV on my 2022 300 XC for different situations, like more hit or smoother power in 5 seconds.
Seems 100% of reviewers over the years forgot to mention they could adjust the PV with the manual adjustable PV's.
Would be cool if there was a switch to select a few different PV adjustments.

It's always hilarious to me when people do absolutely nothing but bitch about their Austrians bikes, trade in their 22 for a 23 for a 24 every year, and when they get it and it runs like shit they're like "bwaaaah how could this happen?" Which isn't even to say that DBC is one those guys but holy shit people.

I had a quick test ride on the 2024 model 300 and 250 over the past weekend. I was also unexpectedly disappointed that the "snappiness" is gone on both models, it removes the thrill of riding dirt bikes. After test-riding both 2024 models, I hopped straight onto my old beat-up 2004 KTM 250 which has tons more grunt and more fun to ride than the 2024 model despite being 20+ years old.

Being that most guys couldn't hold a 150 or 200 wide open for more than a fraction of the time they're ridding off road its probably a good thing for the trails and the forearms of the average squid.
That sed its easy to change the power . Things like gearing and kick starter are not.

when you ride hard enduro this is what you want. alot of the pros run low compression heads and build them so they are crazy smooth from bottom to mid. all about traction. Sounds like if you want the snap go with the TX and re-wind the stator so you can put a fan and a headlight on it. problem solved.

Like the old saying. Slow is fast fast it slow. Could be that riders will be faster overall. But guessing they are trying to copy a 4stroke performance. If I have a 2 stroke. I want a 2 stroke. I'm a big guy so I can hold the front end down. Get on the tank and pull the trigger. That's what I want in my 2 stroke.
