its actually more than that before a t-rex KILLS a spino. the spino has a strong jump force believe it or not. so if the spino jumped on the trex and bit it on the torso or throut that would be bye bye trex. but they can easily kill eachother. but great stuff to know!

That 20 ton Spino estament is extremely outdated, it was about 7 tons.

Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, and Alamosaurus are T Rex's strongest prey animals, and they are many times harder to kill than a Spinosaurus, especially Alamosaurus being practically immune to predators once it reaches adulthood(you can say the same with all sauropods in similar weight classes).

now with more and more new discoveries, and estimation, and everything it seem that the only the lived on land that can kill a T Rex in 1v1 battles are the giant Sauropods that are at least 30 tons or bigger. not to mention it actually occcasionally hunted a sauropod that is literally identical in size and weight as Argentinosaurus, called Alamosaurus.

Spinosaurus according to the paleontologist Paul Sereno after conducting a CT scan experiment, Spinosaurus turns out to be less dense in the water than a typical, modern day crocodile, and it does seem that the river the Spino lived in aka the Nile River is pretty shallow for any animal in the same size and weight class or bigger, and Spinosaurus is not entirely aquatic, it is only semi-aquatic according to science, it can only survive in lakes and river that are freshwater, and will not be able to survive in saltwater, which is why all the fish Spinosaurus eats are freshwater fish. And also , since T Rex actually hunted in packs more often ever thought, a whole gang of at least 4-6 T Rexes will destroy Spinosaurus easily regardless if the fight took place in the shallow rivers Spinosaurus lived in, and especially on land. Spinosaurus could only be better at swimming than other Theropods, but extremely clumsy to even modern crocodiles, and Spinosaurus would be swimming on the surface of the lake or river most of the time anyways, because 99% of its prey are swimming near the surface of the rivers. most land animals would already noticed the Spinosaurus being there a long time before it notices them, and would've already fled that area, because they spot the spine of the animal. T Rex had the best senses of any animal ever, it will know that the spine sticking out of the water is not a rock but another animal if it were to somehow be in time and area. Also confirmed by Paul Sereno, because the CT scan experiment the average maximum mass for a Spinosaurus is 7.4 tons. making it lighter than T Rex and Giganotosaurus.

Look, sure the T-rex has a strong bite, but the Spinosaurus has an advantage. They were by a river. And the Spinosaurus was a lot more agile then the T-rex. The T-rex was basically a stiff mass compared to the Spinosaurus. You are probably wondering, why does it matter they are by a river? THE SPINOSAURUS'S ADVANTAGES COME FROM THE RIVER! And the Spinosaurus would be able to do a tail whip. The Spinosaurus would lose if they were in a clearing far away from the water, BUT THEY ARE RIGHT NEXT TO A RIVER!
