Great video,, a beginner question, was the injury the result of the hard bags on the motorycycle?
ОтветитьI grew up in bishop and the marine corps brought me to yuma. I stayed here when i got out. When i came across this route i got excited because i was literally on google maps for hours plotting something similar. My entire family is in bishop still and wanted to find dirt roads all the way there. Im on an xr650l right now but not sure if it could pack the gear without cracking the subframe. Unless i go very minimalist. I could get subframe supports but they won't fit with my exhaust... now i need to talk my wife into her getting a bike for it...
ОтветитьI live in Wisconsin. Just getting into adventure riding and was wondering why you avoid the center of the country with your documentaries. I know we lack mountains but we got backcountry like you wouldn't believe would love to see a Midwest Northwoods route. I would start say lake of the woods in MN parallel Canadian boarder, come down north shore of Superior, zigzag across northern WI, UP is adventure bike paradise, and end with the bridge to mainland MI would be pretty amazing
ОтветитьWhat month did you guys do this ride?
ОтветитьThe one BDR I’ll gladly skip
ОтветитьSo crazy! Ive also run into the older gentlemen you met at the 52 minute mark. It was in Death Valley about 7 years ago. So cool to see he's still out there adding weird things to his van.
ОтветитьHysterically funny commercial tshirts
ОтветитьI’m currently sitting on the CABDR in a Death Valley Hotel rewatching this vid to enjoy the memories of sections along the AZ and NV borders. Camped on the Colorado River and stumbled upon a R&B concert in Primm. I’m on a 1200gsa and absolutely loving it. Temps ranging from 95-106F and going thru 2+ gallons of electrolyte added water daily. First day went off route and took 6hr to get thru 4mi of river rocks and lots of repairs were made and some rib and toe injuries addressed haha. The scenery coming into Death Valley is astonishing specifically Dante’s View. About to travel Badwater and then up to Lone Pine/Sierra Nevadas. This trip is Challenging ! But I wouldn’t hesitate to doing it again. The people you meet along the way are true characters.
ОтветитьOlá ... Primeiro gostaria de parabenizar pela qualidade dos vídeos , são sensacional. Só gostaria de fazer um pedido de legenda em português, pois não sei ler e escrever em inglês.... Talvez até em outras línguas tbm ... Obrigado !!
ОтветитьSuch a beautiful country.
ОтветитьADV Bike = Honda Gullwing with knobbies. LoL. Heaviest I go is a DRZ400 with wide Kenda tires. The sand and rocks washes on the bikes you are riding must be something. I'm envious of the power and ability to do highway speeds comfortably, but I wear shorts, tee shirt and sun glasses on my DRZ so speeds say in mid 40s anyhow. I've carried an overnighter supply ONCE. Those loads are tough. A small company makes a trailer for dirt bikes. It is a one wheel job that is very similar to a bicycle trailer. Keeps the weight off the bike and adds an extra wheel to distribute the weight. Way better than mounting/carrying gear on the bike itself in my opinion. Anyhow thanks for sharing. Great video.
ОтветитьIf you do an tour like this. IMHO put the lugage in a truck or 4x4 van! Makes the bikes lighter and that gives so much more fun.
ОтветитьEverything is KLIM... They must be writing some nice checks .Aside from socks and gloves, all their pants and jackets are made for thin or skinny people??
ОтветитьRon West's narration and historical insight bring a depth to this BDR movie which is lacking from some of the others. (Watching the UTBDR made me cringe when they speculated that the rock art of Nine Mile Canyon is Anasazi; it's Fremont.) I wish I'd watched this before doing some riding through Mojave Preserve recently just to have some more historical perspective and know about those cool cabins just off the route. I've ridden much of this route before the CABDR was released and it's spectacular. If you have a smaller bike (I prefer a WR250R for this sort of riding) and the skills, the road from Cerro Gordo to the Salt Tram and Swansea grade is a fantastic trail that blows the rest of this route away in terms of scenery and difficulty. My other recommendation for those looking for extra challenge (and don't mind sand) is staying north on the old Vidal road and riding through the Whipple mountains to the Sunflower Springs road, which squeezes between several wilderness areas and rejoins the BDR in Essex. It feels like they jumped on the boring Cadiz RR siding road because they were tired of sand and needed to make up some time. Though described as a wintertime route, you are likely to encounter winter snow on the expert variation going over Papoose Flat and the White Mountains. That said, hats off to the route planners and film makers for doing the hard work so the rest of us can enjoy it. The old guy in the VW van really made my day with his words of wisdom... time to quit my job and pack in more adventure before it's too late.
ОтветитьI just watched this looks fun im up in Oregon ride a bmw gs alot off road we dont have much sand in the mountains sand sucks i did 500 miles off road in death valley now that was on a honda 650 l great ride i normally ride solo as im retired and camp and take my time y'all ride way to fast you miss alot of cool stuff im 70 and still at it ride safe
ОтветитьFun to watch, impressive seeing you guys take these huge bikes through. I used to hustle a ktm 950 through stuff like this, it is fun in its own way. But this kind of route is better done on a smaller bike. Safer, easier, cover ground quicker and have more fun.
ОтветитьGreat review.
Ответитьhonor the land of the Natives
Ответитьdaaang, that looks like a fun riding adventure!!🤙
ОтветитьThat's what we use to call a hurts donut. An it would make you laugh or hurt more. But the idea was to forget the pain. Learn from your mistake an ride on. Be safe.
ОтветитьGreat cinematography and storytelling as usual. But, I have to be honest, I'm really not liking the constant zoom/twist/spin style transition and snap move ending of shots. It really detracts from the viewing experience, constantly taking you out of the story and causing annoyance, and even when there is a brief sequence without them you continually dread their immenent reappearance. Straight cuts and the odd dissolve would have been much better..in my opinion. The speed ramps and the other hand were well done. This comment provided in the spirt of "viewer feedback"...not trying to be argumentative or sarcastic etc.
ОтветитьMost people want to meet movie stars and athletes, I wanna meet all of you guys and Inna is so badass!!!! I’m planning on riding the SoCal BDR in April hopefully.
ОтветитьProps to Dan Schoo for riding a GS successfully on this route. Rides what he sells. Well done.
ОтветитьThis is one BDR I enjoyed watching but not riding. Sand is not fun and I enjoy forests more. Probably because I'm from Tucson Arizona. I was excited about the SCBDR at first because I thought they made the route West of the mountains where everything is green. I've had enough desert for a lifetime. 😆
ОтветитьWhen riding in sand shift your weight back a bit so your front end doesn't dig in...and don't lose momentum.
ОтветитьThanks again. 😊
ОтветитьWell done video. Filming, production, and narration. Thank you. This is a great route, I did it in 2019.
ОтветитьAfter doing this in Apr 2021, it still reminds me of the excitement and challenges of the tracks. I did it on KTM 1090, but I would recommend doing it on KTM 890.
ОтветитьI wish you would show just riding...
ОтветитьAs I am living in Socal and thinking of doing this CA BDR one day hopefully with a group. You all did a great riding.
ОтветитьGreat film, very well produced. This will be an excellent winter ride when there is snow in my state. 👍
ОтветитьYou said it was a good ride for the Winter. What month of the year did you ride the route?
ОтветитьNah...... Need to redo your videos. (That's what I think) Hard to watch your adventures when it's a birds eye view.
ОтветитьCA the meca of off road riding?? ....Hopefully you guys will still be able to do this ride again with electric bikes wearing masks in the 115 degree heat !...But no worries AZ will be right behind you !
Ответитьneed a light two stroke 300 ktm
ОтветитьQuinn is a great addition to this crew ! great rider and humble dude.
Ответитьktm commercial eh? ill keep my 99 xt350.
ОтветитьWhen was this actually ridden? Year/Month?
ОтветитьI live here in Orange County and ride an Ultralight Adventure Bike all set up for week long moto-camping....And I hate the desert 👎Locally I end up in the Big Bear / Lake Arrowhead Mountains. I think I'll checkout your Nor Cal BDR ride video
Ответитьare you guys joking? You're embellishing how difficult the ride is with dramatic music and you are riding 600 lb street bikes with almost street tires in the desert. Why not try riding bikes that are suited for off road riding like 450s? Or even Crf300ls? You have no business riding those pigs in the dirt
ОтветитьVery cool video, Thx, I dont know if you know 2 more miles up cruthers Canyon there's a cool camp ground called the stone table. And at the bottom of the road where you camped there's a stone cabin
ОтветитьOne of you should have a satellite phone and that way you could call for help if you needed it 👍🏼
ОтветитьHow did the cold beers get there???
ОтветитьHave you guys considered doing a route on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington?
ОтветитьBest camp with a portable electric fence in bear country. Lightest is 2.4 lbs. Small kit for huge peace of mind
